The 11 double-ring ceremony was perr 2 - formed by the Reverend Chris - 2 Singleton at the Beulaville Original - ; Free Will Baptist Church. - The bride is the daughter of Mr. 2 - and Mrs. Elwood Brice Sanderson of - I Beulaville. The groom is the son of - ; Mr. D.V. Grady of Kenansville and 2 - Mrs. Faye Coward of Greenville. * * A program of special music was - 2 performed by Kim Taylor, organist, I ; and Michael Sanderson, flutist. : Soloist Joell Thomas sang "You ; ' Needed Me," "The Wedding - 1 Prayer," and "Looking Through the 1 - Eyes of Love.." ,2 - The bride, given in marriage by 1 her parents, was escorted to the altar - 2 by her father. 2 ? The bride wore a formal gown of * - white silkened organza and Chantilly - 2 lace fashioned with a fitted bodice, 2 ~ natural waistline and sheer yoke with 1 - Schiffli embroidery and beads and 2 2 stand-up collar. The long fitted - 2 sleeves ended with calla points over 2 ; the hand. Tiers of ruffled organza 2. ? and lace swept into a cathedral train. 2 2 Her bridal hat, covered with lace and 2 highlighted with pearls, featured a ? ; side-rolled brim and finger tip veil 2 ? with blusher. She carried a bouquet 2 2 of silk flowers of mauve highlighted 2 in pink. 2 - . Melissa Raynor served as maid of 2 honor. Bridesmaids included Mary Raynor, Tonya Jones, Sheila Groves, Molly Lanier and Janet Howard. The 2 - maid of honor wore a formal gown of 2 pink taffeta with a Queen Anne 2 neckline, fitted waist with mauve ribbon and puffed sleeves. She ^ carried three long-stemmed mauve roses. The bridesmaids' gowns were - 2 fashioned the same except in mauve 2 2 taffeta and they carried three pink - long-stemmed roses. The flowergirl, ~ 2 Abby Smith, wore a gown fashioned - 2 the same except with a square 2 - neckline. She carried a white basket 2 - of mauve and pink flowers. 2 The father of the groom served as 2 his son's best man. Groomsmen included Kevin Sanderson, Pat fc I Bostic, Gordon Howard, David Whitman and James Futreal. They were attired in grey tuxedoes, pin striped pants, white tucked shirts with bowties. The groom chose a tuxedo like that of the groomsmen except with tails and a grey and white ascot. They each wore a pink boutonniere. The ringbearer, Justin Marker, wore a grey tuxedo like those of the groomsmen and carried a white satin and lace ring pillow. Following the maid of honor was Zorrine Spence and Brent Miller attired as miniature bride and groom. The bride's mother chose a formal gown of lavender polyester with a gathered skirt, sheer overblouse featuring a high ruffled neckline and sheer sleeves. The groom's mother chose a formal gown of suede rose polyester with a V-neck, empire bodice, flared skirt and sheer sleeves. Both mothers wore white orchid corsages. The grandmothers all wore street length dresses and white corsages. The couple spoke their nuptial vows before the church altar ac cented with a cathedral and two spiral candelabrums and baskets of ferns. They knelt together on a kneeling bench while "The Wedding Prayer" was being sung. The wedding was under the direction of Elma Gray Bostic of Kenansville. Attending the register were Robin Jones and Ellen Sandlin. The bride is a graduate of East Duplin High School and is employed by Thomas and Home and Beulaville Drug. The groom is a graduate of James Kenan High School and is employed by Jackson's 1GA. They will make their home at Route 2, Pink Hill. Reception A reception was hosted by the bride's parents in the church fellow ship hall following the ceremony. Two long tables were beautifully arranged with white lace floor-length tablecloths. Several finger foods, wedding cake and punch were served. They were accented by flower arrangements and lighted tapers. The tiered wedding cake with fountain was accented by two aerial stairways connecting two satellite cakes which were served by Ava Jo Kennedy. Punch was served bv Betty Jean Grady. Assisting with the serving was Zoa Raynor. Mar garet Daughtry greeted the guests at the door. Mr. D.V. Grady and family hosted an after-rehearsal dinner on Saturday night at the church fellow ship hall. Shower* A bridal shower honoring Cindy and David was held at Beulaville Free Will Baptist Church and was hosted by the family. Bride-elect Cindy Sanderson was honored with a lingerie shower and bachelorette party given by her bridesmaids. The bride was also honored with a shower given by Janet Howard. The home of Francis Grady Rhodes was the setting for a mis cellaneous shower given by Theressa Gore, Betty Grady and Francis Rhodes. The Warsaw See-Saws Square Dance Gub also honored Cindy and David with a miscellaneous shower. Tenebrae Service Grove Presbyterian Church inviles you to a service of "Tenebrae" on Good Friday, April20 at 7:30 p.m. J "This service remembers Jesus' death on the cross through scripture readings, music and candles. Pink Hill, invites you to a service' of Holy Communion on Maundy Thursday, April 19 at 7:30 p.m. SCREENING CLINIC The Mount Olive Lions Club will conduct a Glaucoma-Diabetes De tection and Vision Screening Clinic on Saturday, April 14 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Summerlin Electric Service at 109 S. Center, Mount Olive. Persons who are currently being treated for these diseases will not be tested during this clinic. Testing at this clinic will be done by nurses from the N.C. Department of Human Resources and local volunteer nurses. Members of the Mount Olive Rescue Squad will be checking blood pressure during the clinic. Engagement Announced Mrs. Drois T. Blizzard of Mount Olive announces the engagement of her daughter, Karen Louise, to Shelton Ray Hardy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hardy of Seven Springs. The wedding is planned for June 3, 1984, at four o'clock in the afternoon at the Country Squire, Kenansville. Karen is also the j daughter of the late David Earl (Charlie) Blizzard. Tour dates are Sept. 23 to Oct. 1. Reservations and down payments are n-~w being accepted. The tour cost is $997. "The tour will be in northeast Switzerland in the upper Toggen burg area," according to Spicer. This is not a tourist area. This is f farming area, one made up of family dairy farms, small cheese factories and little villages tucked here and there. These people make their living off the land just as most Duplin families do. There will be some optional one- or two-day tours available.
