fessional Club will honor the Fire
Department and Rescue Squad
members with a steak dinner April
24, at 7 p.m. at the fire station.
For a donation of $10 per person,
or $20 per couple, you have an
opportunity to show your appre
ciation and also enjoy a steak dinner.
If you cannot attend, we still need
your donation for the benefit of the
fire and rescue departments, said
W.A. Avery, finance chairman.

REVIVAL
There will be an Easter Weekend
Revival at New River Holiness
Church Friday and Saturday nights
at 7:30 and Sunday night at 7 o.m.
with Brother John Taylor. There will
be special singing each night. The
public is invited.

Pearsall Holiness Church will be
holding revival services April 23 - 27,
according to the pastor, W.R.
Wallace.
Guest speaker will be the Rev.
F.C. Barnes.

Stroud is running for one of the
two seats to be filled in November.
Stroud. 53, who served two terms
as Pink Hill mayor and has also
served on the Lenoir County Board of
Education, said he will not make
campaign promises.
Stroud said he is opposed to the
merger of the city and county school
systems "without a vote of the
people."
He said he is also opposed to the
satellite annexation of property in
the county into the city limits.
Stroud is president of Har-Scott
Inc. of Pink Hill. He is also owner of
Liberty Farms, a purebred sheep
operation and is president of the
N.C. Sheep Producers Association.
He is a member of the First
Baptist Church of Pink Hill. He and
his wife have four children.

A spring festival will be held on
Saturday, April 21 from 10 a.m. to 2
p.m. to kick off the campaign for
Harold Stroud for county commis
sioner. The event will be held on the
grounds of Har-Scott Co.
