Crime Of The Week Lenoir County Sheriff's deputies are investigating an April 12 break in at the Liddell Cash Supply Store, Route 1, Seven Springs. According to reports, someone entered the store by breaking a window on the north side of the building. Items reported missing were meats, cigarettes, a Sharp cash register, an RCA 12" black and white TV, food stamps and $100 in cash money. Total value of items stolen was $1,113.27. Lenoir County Crime Stoppers will pay for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the burglar or burglars. The amount of the reward depends on the seriousness of the crime and value of the information. Anyone having information in this crime or any crime is asked to call Crime Stopper at 523-4444 weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Callers need not give their names. All callers remain anonymous, according to Sgt. Larry L.C. O'Quinn, coordi nator. Lenoir County Workshops Lenoir County 4-H will offer a series of workshops for youth 13 years old and up who would like to learn how to develop a summer business in lawn care. The first night workshops will center around the horticulture aspect of lawn care including weeding, pruning bushes, edging, soil samp ling, etc. The second night will be on maintenance of power mowers and tools needed for total lawn care. The third and final night will involve the buisness aspect such as record keeping, soliciting business and public relatios. According to Howard F. Scott, Lenoir extension agent, 4-H, the workshops will be on Wednesdays, April 25, May 2 and May 9 at 7 p.m. at the Agriculture Extension Center on the Pink Hill Highway next to the Livestock Arena. Certificates will be given to individuals who complete the workshops. For more informa tion, call Lenoir County 4-H office at 527-4191. Briefs HELP RAISE MONEY The South Lenoir High School's new music alumni committee is seeking former choral and band students to help raise money in various ways for the music depart ment at South Lenoir. If interested, call Maria Ard Ham at 568-4791 or Linda Grady Rouse at 568-3725, or you may write South Lenoir High School in care of The Music Alumni Committee. You are urged to participate in order to have a quality music department at South Lenoir. REVIVAL Revival services for Pink Hill United Methodist Church will begin Sunday evening, April 29. and continue each evening thru Thurs day, May 3. Services will begin each evening at 7:30. Guest minister will be the Rev. F. Odell Walker, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Ginton. Special music is being planned. The public is invited to worship with us during the services, ac cording to the pastor. CAULEY FAMILY REUNION The descendants of Thomas Cauley (1786-1850) and Elizabeth Nunn Cauley (1796-1881) will hold their annual family reunion at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 29 in the fellowship hall of Webb's Chapel United Methodist Church at Sandy Bottom. Family members and friends are invited to come and bring a picnic lunch. James Cauley will discuss the family history. Thomas Cauley and his wife Elizabeth had eleven children. There were? Stephen, Nancy, Elsie, John, Eliza, Betsy, Mary, Franklin. James. Richard Bartholomew and George Thomas. SPRING RECITAL The Doris Whitfield School of Dancing will present their spring recital on Tuesday, May 1 at 8 p.m. at Northwest School auditorium. Also featured will be the brand new Coca Cola Dancers. The public is invited and there is no charge. CLOUTIER NAMED EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF LENOIR CCA David Cloutier (pronounced Klu-tee-ay) has been appointed the new executive director of the Community Council for the Arts. David has an extensive back ground and interest in the arts, particularly creative writing. He studied at Brown University, taking his B.A. and M.A. in English and creative writing. He comes to Lenoir County via Williamston where he was visiting artist at Martin Com munity College. Youth Gospel Sing There will be a Youth Gospel Sing on Sunday. April 29 beginning at 2:30 p.m. at the Pink Hill Church of God. Boys and girls 12 years old and under may participate. If you sing or play and are any denomination, you are welcome. Banders will be given to the church with the most points. Kick Off Campaign For Stroud Harold Stroud, left, and P.C. Barwick. Republican candidate for Lenoir County commissioner, chat at the Spring Festival held as a kick-off campaign for Stroud on Saturday. Some 500 people enjoyed barbecued pork, lamb or hot dogs. Children enjoyed petting the baby lambs while adults enjoyed the sheep sheering or entertainment 0y the Baker Family.
