Improper" care" of hogs following their immunisation against hog chol era, administered In public stock yards and after-arrival at their destination, has resulted In losses'1 which may be materially decreased: The following Instructions for the prevention of losses are valuable: "Shipments' should be made prompt ly after Immunization, or should be delayed- for not less than ten days. TAKE -- PEPTO-MANGAN IT BUILDS RICH, RED BLOOD -. No matter how well you usually are, if temporarily you'ro run down, you're a target for the influenza. Contagion always gets listless peo ple first. Whether they realizeit or not, their blod is thin and "under nourished in no condition to fight off the germs it meets everywhere. It is a wise precation to take a gocd tonic at this time of danger some well-known builder of red, vigorous blood, like Pepto-Mangan. And if you did not think of this in time if you are now recovering from a fight with influenza your blood will need help for weeks after you think the danger is past. t ; Take no unnecessary chances. Get Pepto-Mangan and start taking it to day. Pepto-Mangan is an effective blocd builder that has. the endorse ment of physicians for years; Pepti-Mangan is sold bv drusreists in e'ther liquid or tablet form, just - as prei erred. There is no difference in medicinal value. But be silre you get the genuine Pepto-Mangan. Ask for Gud's Pepto-Mangan and be sure the name is on the package. (Advertisement) - - TnE SOLDIERS MEMORIAL. Last week we mailed a number of circular letters to people over the county that had been selected by the board of directors of the Pollc Coun ty Soldiers Memorial Association, asking them to organize or consider themselves organized by townships to help the Association to wage a campaign for the Memorial--; Fund. Now we hope that each individual we have asked to help will consider them selves a member of the Association and help patriotically in this work. The directors have not as yet decid ed on the style of the memorial, but are considering a combination or fountain memorial made of granite, ten or twelve feet h'gh, wi n a bronze figure of an American soldier with gun, a fine piece of work, a!photo of same being in my possession. The cost of same as quoted by the firm Norfolk, Va, RidW.d.Va. I ft 1 mm llCM iL making it in Boston, Mass., is approx imately f. o. b. Tryon, $3,800.00. "We believe we may be able to get a better price if we could place the order at once.- Suffice it to say - our memorial or monument will cost us approxi mately $3,500X0. We ought to raise tins amount at once, then place the order for the work to be finished, de livered, erected and unveiled on the Fourth of. July, as has been suggest ed heretofore. We suggested that township, chairmen confer with each ther in order that the very besw p!ans may be adopted for the . cam paign. . We give names below of all those whom the directors have selected to aeip them, and there is nothing com pulsory, all a voluntary service, from a patriotic county' and home-loving standpoint.' We have just put through -he most gigantic war program the .vorld has ever known in which the patriotism of every citizen was thor oughly tried and tested. We believe .hat this experience has broadened our vision and the thorough manner in which we overcame all obstacles .as livted us for een greater achiev .xieiits in the future. Columbus Township: L.
