There la one thing aurej you will

Tw0 fooj mules ? say, get this

piece of rope. Said one to the other,
"You come my way, while I take
a nibble from this new-mown hay."
"I won't," said the other, "You
come with me, for I too have some
hay, you see." So they got nowhere
just pawed up dirt, and Oh, by
golly! that rope did hurt. Then they
faced about, these stubborn mules
and said, "Were acting like humtn
fools!" "Let's pull together. I'll go
you way ? " "Fine! Come wit^ me
and we'll both eat hay." Well, they
both ate their hay, and they liked
olt too and swore to be comrades
good and true. As the sun went
down they were heeard to bray: Ah,
this is the end of a perfect day."

How to act when Jumping off the
Wool worth Building: For a long
time there has been a demand for
a competent treatise of this Impor
tant subject necessary to the well
being of every man and woman in
America. To be successful, follow
these directions carefully.
Advance calmly to the edge of
the roof. Step upon the coping and
take a careful view of the city. Not_
ice the tiny street cars and the
people smaller than gnats on the
street below you. Notice the mist
over the ocean, the mist in the val
ley of the Hudson, the mist ? by
this time you will have missed your
footing. Place both hands in your
pockets, or better yet, assume a
Napoleonic attitude with one hand
inserted between the buttons of
your coat( a noble attitude to begin
the Journey is the best taste at
present.)
At this time you will be passing
the forty.seventh siory. It would
be a good idea to lay your glasses
on the window sill of this story ( as
they are apt to be broken by the
impact, of the fall. Rest your weight
firmly on both feet, with the right
foot slightly advanced. Pass the for
tieth story a little less rapidly, aa
there are photographers here who
wist to get your picture for tha
new8 reels.
I said slow down a little here.
Slow down! All rightf if you aren't
going; to cooperate there's no use in
trying to work this thing out at all.

To The Voters of the Town of Tryon:
In announcing my candidacy for the Position of Mayor
elect, I wish to assure the voters I have no endorsed
Oicket for the offices of Town Commissioners.
If elected I propose to serve as Mayor without salary
to maintain an off ice distinct and separate from my general
business and devote such time as is necessary for the
purpose of performing the duties as Mayor#
To enforce all town ordinances and regulations that
are approved by the City Attorney and adopted by the
Commissioners#
I propose to adhere strictly to the Budget System
as shall be adopted by the Commissioners and accepted by
the tax payers.
We do not think it good business, or to the best
interests of the town, to combine the offices of Mayor and
Town Manager. The Manager should devote his entire time
and attention to tie affairs of the town; be elected by the
Commissioners and subject to re-call at their pleasure.
The Mayor's position shall be that of an Executive,
seeing that the Manager and employees of the town perform
the duties as prescribed by the Commissioners.
It behooves the voters to select the very best business
men available, without personal prejudice, to serve as
Commissioners since upon them rests the responsibility and
future prosperity of the Town and community#
(Signed) E. E. MISSILDINE.
NOTICE!
I hereby announce myself candidate for
the office of City Commissioner, independent
of any party or group affiliations. If elected,
I promise to serve the Town of Tryon to the
best of my ability and for her best interest.
Subject to the will of the voters of Tryon
at the City Election, May 5th, 1925.
WRIGHT J." GAINES.
