The arrest was made after the phy sician who is a member of the stafl at Oteen Hospital had filed complaini against the superintendent for $50, 000. charging alienation of his wife's affections. Dr. Murphy was taken into custodj as he sat at his desk in the count] court house annex. The complaint follows: "That on or about the 9th day o: August, 1924, in the city of Dubuque state of Iowa, plaintiff intermarried with Elinora Hernia Griffiths sines named and known as Elinora Griffiths Mandelos, and at the times of th< commissions of the wrongs hereinaf ter mentioned, the plaintiff, and hii wife lived together as man and wife and they have been living together ai man and wife in the County of Bun combe, North Carolina, since Octobe: 19M. There have ipaver been any improper relations between me and Dr. Murphy and the allegation i made by my husband and published ; in the afternoon papers are absolute, !y untrue and without any foundation i in fact. School Board to Hold Headng A special session of the county school board is announced for Tuesday morning, April 6th at 11 o'clock for the special purpose of investigating the charges against the county Superintendent. This session of the county board of education will be an open session according to the chairman of the board. The parties involved may if they desire have counsel to represent them. It is more than likely that this special meeting will be held in the office of the superintendent it is stated. A special called meeting of the school board was held last Tuesday evening at which time the date tot the special hearing was set.
