Billy Loftln arrived Saturday from the University of North Caro lina to spend the summer holidays. He will be a sophomore next year and is majoring In accounting. Mrs Glenn Wade and son, Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Dickinson, Jr., and Mr. Arihur Stafford spent the week end visiting Mr. Glenn Wade who is employed in Norfolk, Va. Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Harrell and daughter, Charlene, of Raleigh, ar rived Tuesday to spend this week with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. G. V. Harrell and son, G. V.., Jr.. of Raleigh, snent last week end here with relatives. Holds Regular Monthly Meeting Monday The Woman's Society of Chris tian Service of the Ann Street Methodist church held its regular monthly meeting Monday after noon at three o'clock. Mrs. W. L. Bell led the Spiritual Life Group after which a very in spiring program web presented by members of the Lizzie Chadwick circle. Those participating were Mrs. Calvin Jones, Mrs. Robert Safrit, Jr., and Mrs. Blythe Noe with a solo by Mrs. John Ratiliff. A brief business meeting was al so conducted during the afternoon. John Stanley Pollock, 52. hus band of the former Roslynd Wlnd ley of Beaufort, and prominent farmer of near Trenton in Jones county, succumbed to a heart at tack in a Kinstoi hospital early Wednesday after a brief illness. The funeral was held from Tren ton Disciples of Christ church at 4 p. m. Thursday, with interment in Trenton cemetery. The Rev. Rupert A. Phillips, pastor, and the Rev. W. E. Howard, Methodist minister of Trenton, officiated. Masons had charge at the grave. Mr. Pollock was a retired rural mail carrier and was active in many farm agencies in Jones coun ty.
