Lewis, and James B. Maty, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. James B. Macy, which was impressively solemnized Friday at 8 o'clock at the First Methodist chuach. Rer. Lester A. Tilley, minis ' tor of the church, officiated using be double ring ceremony. Large oor baskets of white gladioli were uhouetted against a background ferns and soft greenery which tit wined the communion rail and te candelabra holding ivory bridal pers. Single candles outlined the rmmunion rail. Mrs. Normah Webb, organist resented a program of nutpial lusic and Mrs. Josiah W. Bailey, Jr., soloist, sang, "Through the Bears" and "One Alone." Mrs. Ida Willis returned this (week end from a vacation in Pitts burgh, Pa., Baltimore, Md. and Washington, D. C. Mr nnd Mrs. Harvev Hines. Jr.. knd children arrived Friday for the summer. Mr. and Mrs. Mack Stamps, of Durham, spent the Fourth with Jr. and Mrs. C. N. Bennett on heir yacht. Mrs D. G. Bell returned Thurs- Ilay from Kings Mountain where he has been visiting relatives for everal weeks. Mrs. C. B. Arthur has returned rom a two weeks' visit in New rork City. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Colenda and kon, Allen, Jr., left yesterday to return to their home in Danville, Wt., after spending a week here visiting their parents. Mr. and Mrs. Ottis H. Johnson, It., and Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Nor wood, of Raleigh, spent the week nd with Dr. and Mrs. 0. II. John- Ion. Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Wade left toly 1 for a trip to California, lexico and Canada. Mrs. Eric Lewis and children, Eric, Jr., Larry, and Pamela, left Thursday to visit Mr. and Mrs. Carl Grisoold in Olmstedville, N. Y. Mrs. C. A. Guthrie and daughter, tlary Ann, of Norfolk, Va., are isiting Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Willis. Mr. and Mrs. D. T. Willis, of Nor oik, Va. spent the weekend at the jruests of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. The bridegroom chose his cousin, Jerry Willis as best man. Grooms men were Charles Macy, Bob An derson and Charles Toteon. Mrs. Lewis, mother of the bride wore a dress of aqua sheer with a corsage of pink roses. . Mrs. Macy, the bridegroom's mother wore a dress of blue crepe. Her corsage was also of pink roses. . Following the ceremony the wed ding guests were entertained at a reception at the home of the bride's parents on Bridges St. The bride's table with its lace cloth draped over pnjt was centered with gladioli and carnations. A 3 tiered wedding cake and white ta pers in crystal candelabra comple ted the table appointments. After the first slice of cake was cut by the bride nnd groom, the cake was served by Mrs. Virginia Purifoy. Miss Frances Pittman presided at the punch bowl. Assisting in serv ing ws Clarence Mitchell and Mrs ftv-sp Ncls-in Miss Margaret Morris presided at the bride's book. Gursis were greeted by Miss Co retta Thompson and good-byes were said by Mrs. Roland King. Immediately following the recep tion the bride and ?room left for a trip to unannounced points. For going away Mrs. Macy chose a brown and white suit with match ing accessories, and the corsage lifted from her wedding bouquet. Mrs. Macy is a graduate of the Morehead City High school, whore she took a post graduate commer cial course. She has been employ ed by the First Citizens Bank and Trust Co. for the past two years. Mr. Macy. a recent graduate of State College, served as an ensign in the U. S. Navv durin World War II . i The couple will make their home In Newport News, Va., where Mr. Macy will be connected with the Newport News Shipbuilding Dry dock company. Mrs. Macy was complimented with many social affairs the week before her wedding. Mr. and Mrs. I. E. family. Thursday Bridge Club , Meets With Mrs. Siimpson Mrs. Quincy Stimpson entertain ed the Thursday bridge club at her home at 2:30 o'clock. Guests were Mrs. Alec Boijner, Mrs. Robert Freeman, Mrs. W. C. The floating price, an aluminum colander, went to Mrs. Alec Bonner. The hostess used lovely Summer petunias throughout the home and served delicious strawberry cheese frozen salad with iced tea and salt ed crackers. Survivor's Name Omitted The name of Mrs. W. E. Guth rie, Morehead City, was omitted in the' Ust of Mrs. Mary Wheal ton's survivors which appeared in Friday's paner. Mrs. Guthrie is Mrs. Whealtoo's daughter.
