On Monday evening, August 2, at
eight o'clock Miss Jessie Lee Babb
became the bride of Mr. Robert
Dominique in a lovely candlelight
service at the home of the bride's
parents, Mr. and Mis. Jesse Babb.
The Reverend T. R. Jenkins f
ficiated using the double ring ce
remony. The bride chose her sister. Miss
Marian Ball as maid of honor and
her only attendant. The groom
was attended by Mr. Kenneth
Oaks, of San Francisco, Calif., as
his best man.
Prior to the ceremony the
beautiful sei'V.ion "Because," was
rendered. The bride and groom
stood before an improvised aKer
in front of the mantle which was
beautifully decorated with ivy and
white candles. The house was de
corated throughout with arrange
ments of summer flowers.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, was attired in a white
taffeta floor-length gown fashion
ed with a sweetheart neckline, ga
thered bodice and tiered skirt. Her
only ornament was a double strand
of pearls, given to her lv the
groom. She wore a shoulder cor
sage of red rosebuds an.l green
fern.
The maid of honor's floor-length
gown was of aqua chiffon and her
shoulder corsage was peach gladi
oli and fern.
The groom was attired in his
navy blue sailor's uniform and the
best man in his white uniform.
Following the ceremony the
bride and groom and immediate
family were entertained with a
dinner given by Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Anthony aMhe- Galley Restaurant
in Morehead City.
The groom is the son of Mrs.
Mary Dominique and the late Mr.
Eugene Dominique, of Norwood,
Ohio. At present time he is sta
tioned at Fort Macon Coast Guard
Station.

Device Shocks Birds
SYRACUSE, N. Y. - (AP)
An electronic device designed to
get rid of pigeons that roost on
building ledges is being produced
by a newly formed company here.
The gadget, said to be 90 percent
effective, creates a field of sta
tic electricity along a fine wire.
Albert D. Gunn, president of the
company, explains that pigeons
find the static field "uncomfort
able" and fly away.

Mayor Dill Delivers Address
At Business Women's Club
George W. Dill, Jr., mayor of
Morehe:d City, delivered the ad
dress et the monthly meeting of
the Carteret Business and Profes
sional Women's , club Tuesday
night.
The club met in the court house,

Topic of Mayor - Dill's address
was the financial status of More
head City. He explained that the
town in 1925 borrowed a million
and a half dollars and with this
money paved streets and built the
