Laughton, of Beaufort, became the bride of Harry Allan Paul, son of Mr. and Mrs. Grayden M. Paul, Sr., of Beaufort, in a double ring ceremony at the First Baptist Church Saturday evening at eight o'clock. The Reverend Winfrey Davis, pastor, officiated. The formal ceremony took place before a background o. pinejid southern smilax interspersed with, seven, 9, 7, and 5 branch candela bra. The altar rati was draped in white and festooned with southern smilax while four floor baskets of gladioli and white chrysanthe mums enhanced the beauty of the scene. The columns of the church were also entwined with smilax and pew markers were made of white satin ribbon with carnations and fern. A program of wedding music was rendered by Mrs. Charles Has sell, organist, and Miss Bettie Lou Merrill, soloist. Mrs. Hassell play ed "Clare de Lune" by Debussey, "Through the Years," "Adoration" by Borosky, "Canzonetta" by Hol laender and "I Love Thee" by Greig. Miss Merrill sang "Be cause" and "At Dawning." "The Lord's Prayer" was sung as the benediction. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Mr. George R. Laughton. Thomas Ennctt, county health officer, will attend a meet ing of the state health advisory council in Raleigh Friday to discuss the funds that the legislature will be requested to appropriate for local health work.
