President Makes Correction On Amount of Nursing Fees Mrs. Tressa Royal Vickers, pre sident of the Carteret County Re gistered Nurses club, has announ ced that all county registered pro fessional nurses receive $8 for eight-hour private duty, general nursing, and $10 for mental and alcoholic cases rather than the amount stated in Friday's paper. The patient will be responsible for providing one meal for each period of duty for both registered professional and licensed practical nurses. Nurses supply their own transportation. Couples Bridge Club Meets With Mr. and Mrs. E. Davis Mr. and Mrs, Elhan Davis enter tained the Couples Bridge Club at their home on Bridges Street Tuesday evening at eight o'clock. Mrs. Fred Willis was an invited guests for the evening. Ladies' high, a novelty vase, was won by Mrs. Lionel Smith and men's high, a door knocker, went to Mr. John Willis. Chocolate mint patties, second high, were won by Jarvis Herring while Lio nel Smith was consoled with a bun basket. Lovely fall flowers, chrysanthe mums, zinias and marigolds were attractively arranged throuughout the home. Mrs. Scherer was slricken with a heart ailment, and died after an illness of 17 weeks. Her parents were Alex C. Davis and Emma Duncan Davis. Mrs. Alice Weiheringlon Mrs. Alice Wetherington, 78, mother of Mrs. H. T. Rhue of Beaufort and Mrs. T. W. Kitrell, of Morehead City, died at her home near Jacksonville Friday night. Funeral services were conduct ed Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o' clock by the Rev. W. D. William son, Baptist minister of Swansboro, from the home of her son, Ray mond. Woman's (M ; Holds Meeting veoing The first meeting of the year of the Cherry Point Woman's club was' held In the Community build ing Tuesday evening. The meet ing was called to order by Miss Susie Moore, president. The club hymn was sung and the collect was read by the members. Tbe treasurer's report was given by Mrs. J. F. Tuttle. A letter of thanks from the Treasurer of the Craven County Cancer Drive com mittee was read by the secretary, Mrs. Don Jenkins. Mrs. Frank Russell, vice presi dent, gave a short explanation of the Crusade for Children drive which will take place this month under the auspices of the club. Mrs. M. E. Richardson, Mrs. J. F. Tuttle, and Mrs. Houston Gober were named as a decorating com mittee to make the clubroom more attractive. A framed honor roll certificate which Was presented to the club at the State Convention was then given to this committee to be hung in the clubroom. It was decided to invite the Trenton Womans' club to be the guests of this club at the meeting to be held in Oct ober. The Club will give a style and fashion show during the month of January and it was voted to contribute one half of the funds to the March of Dimes drive. News Holes Each week of the year, a mid week prayer service is held in the Havelock Community chapel on Wednesday evening at 7 o'clock. There has been a fine attendance at this meeting and it is felt that it serves a splendid service to the people of Ihe project. Mr. and Mrs. W. H.
