Mrs. J. S. Steed, of Beaufort, was a guest of the club for the after noon. Seven progressions of bridge were played after which the hos tess served birthday cake with ice cream and soft drinks. Wesleyan Guild Meets On Monday Evening The Wesleyan Guild of the First Methodist Church met Monday eve ning with Mrs. Kate Staton Willis with Misses Ruth Willis und Fran ces Pittman as assistant hostesses. Twenty four memers answered to roll call with the Reverend and Mrs. L. A. Tilley and Mrs. Aquilla Joyner as welcomed guests. The president, Mrs. Fred Lewis, presided and the guild song was song and a prayer given by Mr. Tilley. Mrs. II. M. Eure, Mrs. A. B. Roberts and Mrs. W. G. Oglesby were named (o devise a plan for raising money to help with the erection of the new church. Miss Dorothy Roberts gave the devotionals alter which Mrs. A. B. Roberts told of the conditions in Korea; of the struggle that Christianity is undergoing in tliat country which is so torn by the powers that are stronger and are eating at the very core of its ci vilization.
