Advances. in Morehead
Methodist Church Circuit
Since 1939 the Morehead Circuit
of the Methodist church wes com
posed of six churches: Merrimon,
Tnttle's Grove Franklin Memor
ial of Morehead City, Camp Glenn,
Broad Creek, and Salter PSjfh.
The North Carolina Conference
at the last session changed the
boundaries .'nil put Merrimon and
Tuttle's Grove with the Beaufort
circuit. This year Mr. Louie Lewis
is working under the supervision
of the pastor and he is holding
services at Salter Path three times
a month and at Broad Creek three
times a month; giving each of
these churches morning and night
.services.
Mr. Lewis also preaches at Camp
Glenn twice a month and the pas
tor, Mr. W. 1). Caviness, also
preaches twice a month to give
the church a service each Sunday.
It is believed that this -is the best
set-up which any circuit of its size
in the Conference enjoys. With
the change in the other churches
this makes it possible for Frank
lin Memorial of Morehead City to
be a full time church as far as the
church services arc concerned.
Increased number of services
however, is a call to greater in
:crest and support on the part ol
the people of these congregations
lo support this new project and to
(jrow as they should. The Itev.
W. I). Caviness.
