"With the termination date of most of the leases under the 1947 Act 'orrty a few week off, this of fice has received many inquiries as to what will happen- to units covered by these leases," Mr. Wil son said. "The holders of such leas es, want especially to know what the rent ceiling, on such leases will be. "First as to what will happen to units covered by such leases: Un-1 persons having leases under the. der the provision of the Act, such umts will automatically go back under rent control, with the tenant and the landlord having the same rights and protections as apply to controlled units that were not nnder tease. "As to the maximum rents for such units: The maximum rent will be the same as that provided in the expiring leases (provided the leases were valid)."
