Our girls were downed with a score of 24-19, and the boys came up on the top end of a score of 41-30. The girls' game turned out to be a nip and .tuck game, the favor changing several times. Morehead, being on the little end of a score of 5-1 in the first quarter, rallied to bring up the score to More head's favor, 11-9. The end of the third quarter found the score 17 up, and the final was 24 19 for Smyrna. Morehead's Elsie Willis bagged 5 field goals and 1 free shot, mak ing 11 points in all. The balance of the score was divided between Nancy Derrickson and Patty Jean Bell with 4 each. Smyrna's star was Peggy Arthur, No. 6, with 11, followed by Gloria Willis, No: 10, with 5; she also fouled out in the last half with four personals. The boys took the lead for More head and kept it through the quar ter scores 14-7, 2612, 34-19, 41-30. Buck Matthews, center for More head, scored 4 field goals and 4 foul shots to add 12 points to the Eagles' score. Following right be hind was Tommy Cordova with 11; Leslie Feagle with 9; Bobby Bell, 5; "Struggle" Steed, 2; Bobby Matthews. 2.
