During play c-oca-oolas were served. At the conclusion of the game gifts were exchanged among mem bers. The room was lovely with yanpon end candles. Tables were spread with handmade cloths and decorated with red candles. High score prize was awarded Mrs. Carl D. Garner and Mrs. D. S. Femia received consolation prize. Smith was given a lovely surprise birth day party by Mrs. Smith assisted by Mrs. Julius Nelson, Sr. The home was decorated to carry out the Yule Tide motif. Each guest was given a novelty hat and horn upon arrival. A hugh cake centered the dining table surrounded by many useful gifts presented by a host of friends. Mrs. James Rowland sang "In dian Love Call" and "White Christ mas," accompanied by Mrs. Robert Hessee at the piano. Little Julna Young and Gloria Jean Nelson danced to the tune ol "Jingle bells'" and joined in sinking Christmas Carols. Contests and stunts were then in order. Garden and Civics Club Hears Mrs. John Lashley Mrs. G. D. Gamble presided over the regular monthly meeting of the Garden & Civics club Wednesday afternoon at the Civic center. A beautiful Christmas tree and bell for door decoration was dis played by Mrs. Phillip Ball; a Christmas cane by Mrs. D. W. Freshwater and mantle decorations by Mrs. J. F. Giddens, Mrs. John Lashley and Mrs. C. R. Lincoln.1 Mrs. Allen Ferebee presented a table decoration of tapers with pine, apples, yaupon and ribbon. The program for the afternoon entitled "Christmas Customs" was given by Mrs. John Lashley fol lowed by a lovely Christmas story. Mrs. Georginia Smith, mother of Mrs. Allen Ferebee, was a guest, and told of the customs of people she met on her recent trip to South America.
