Morehead City Takes Doubleheader from Beaufort Morehead C i t y's Tidewater League leaders proved themselves the class of the league over the weekend by drubbing Beaufort 21-7 Saturday and coming from ,* behind in the last half of the ,, ninth inning Sunday to achieve an 8-6 victory. Left Fielder Hansil of Morehead City showed up best in the box 1 score of Saturday's game in Beau fort by making four runs, one two bagger, and one three-bagger off of his two trips to the plate. Busses for these persons without private transporta tion will leave the Methodist edu cational building at 3 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6:15 p.m. Tobacco Hon Will Moot At Haleigh Friday Morning Tobacco farmers in the county have been informed that a meet ing of stockholders of the Flue Cured Tobacco Cooperative Stab ilisation corporation will be held in Raleigh this week. - The meet ing will open at 11 a.m. Friday in Fullen hail on the North Carolina State collcge campus. The purpose of the meeting will be to elect directors, hear reports from various corporation officers and transact routine business. During the past three tobacco marketing seasons the Stabiliza tion corporation has received more than 404 million pounds of tobac co from its stockholders. Mem bers join by purchasing at least one share of common stock in the corporation and by placing tobacco in the corporation for 90 per cent of the parity siippovt price. | Morehead Society. Lanier Book Club Holds Picnic at Mrs. Geer's The Lanier Book club held its closing meeting of the year with a picnic at the home of Mrs. Faul Geer on Evans St. Tuesday after noon. The Dutch luncheon, which was served buffet style on the lawn, was attended by 19 members and two guests, Mrs. Howard Hansen and her house guest. Woman's Auxiliary Meets With Mrs. Gladys Beard The Woman's Auxiliary of the Free Will Baptist church of More head City held its June monthly meeting with Mrs. Gladys Beard, Sealevel Drive, Cherry Point. The meeting was called to or der by the president, Mrs. Letha Marks. The theme for the month of June is "Giving Christ Pre eminence Through Personal Soul Winning." After singing a hymn, the Ret.. Leon Styron read the scripture. Lenster Lewis Weds Miss Tolsie Lee Willis The wedding of Miss Tolsie Lee Willis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Keithley Willis, and Lenster Lew s, son of Mrs. Louisa and the late rhomas Lewis, was solemnized Friday evening, June 17, at eight j'clock in the Franklin Memorial Methodist church. Miss Helen jUthrie sang, "I Love You Truly." The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a street-length dress of white shark skin, made on princess lines, with white accessories. She carried a prayer book, topped with a purple orchid. Mrs. Nellie Hall, the matron of honor, wore aqua taffeta with pink accessories. Her corsage was pink carnations.
