V Jan. 17 ? The Woman's Society of Christian Service has organized itself into three Circles under the leadership ol Mrs. Bessie Howard. Hiss Lela Howard and Mrs. Selena Spencer. Two of the circlfes held their first meetings on Monday night; the third will meet tomor row, Friday at the home of Mrs. I Spencer. A chief project of all the circles at this tuue is raising money to renovate and repair the Methodist parsonage. Potter Garrish returned Sunday to his post of duty with the Army Air Force in Texas, after a ten days' visit with his mother. Mrs Ruby Garrish. He expects to be transferred to Denver. Colorado, shortly. Carlton Kelly is back from sev eral days visit with relatives in Norfolk. Mrs. Sue Scarborough recently conducted a series of studies on 'Women of the Scriptures" at the Methodist church. Members of the Young Adults Class held its January meeting at the church and made plans for reorganisation of the Methodist Youth Fellowship group. They will be assisted in their plans by Rev. W. Y. Stewart and Mrs. Stewart. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gaskins ot Ocean City, Maryland, are visit ors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carson O'Neal. Construction is progressing rap idly on a recreation building, two ol the former navy base structures having been secured for this pur pose. Students of the school and others have assisted in demounting the building and work on recon struction iv in progress at this time. The building will be located southeast of the school building. A number of new postcard views of Oeracoke will be on sale at the Island stores in a short time. These include an excellent photo of the Lighthouse by. Dr. J. E. Fitzgerald of Richmond.
