Mr. Frank Leonard is improving at Kafer Memorial hospital, New Bern, after being injured in an au tomobile accident. Mr. and Mrs. George Eastman and son, Joe, and Mrs. W. P. Hed rick spent Sunday in Washington where they visited Mr. and Mrs. John Ratcliff. Mrs. John Stewart and two chil dren have moved to Seattle, Wash., to join Mr. Stewart who is station ed there with the Coast Guard. Mrs. Sceiter left last week for her home in Utica, N. Y., after visit here with Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Daniels. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Steed, jr., of Four Oaks spent Friday here with Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Steed. Mrs. Albert Serpell left last Sat urday for her home in Norfolk after a visit at Inlet inn. Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Costtardt of Baltimore, Md., are visiting their son, John, who is doing research work for the Navy at Duke Marine lab. Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Steed and Miss Betsy Thornton spent Sunday in Greenville where they visited Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Parker, sr. Mrs. Allie Mae Blake and her mother. Mrs. Dowd, both of Chapel Hill, will spend this weekend with Mrs. Blake's daughter and son-in law, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth W. Wright, jr. Mrs. Walter Holliday and her daughter, Betty, of Wake Forest, spent last weekend at their cottage at Straits. Braxton Adair will return today from a business trip to Washing ton, D. C. Mrs. John Dozier returned to Raleigh yesterday after a short visit with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Smith. Mr. Ben Jones was taken to a hospital in Richmond Monday for an operation. Mrs. Charles Manson, jr., spent last Thursday at Fayetteville where she visited her husband who is re ceiving treatment at the Veterans hospital there. Mrs. B. C. Vickery returned home Sunday from Washington, D. C? where she had been visiting her son and daughter-in-law. Mrs. L. C. Davis and Mr. and Mrs. . Wyon Lewis and children w!U spend this weekend at LaGrange. Mrs. Robert Safrit, Henry and Jane Safrit and Larry Moore spent last Sunday at Faison with Mrs. Safrit's mother, Mrs. Henry Safrit. Mrs. R. M. Williams returned home last Friday from Winston Salem where she had gone for a medical check-up at Bowman-Gray hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Ames Williams of Chestnut Hill, Mass., arrived Tuesday for a visit with their son in-law and daughter. Capt. and Mrs. Fred Wardwell. While here they are guests at Inlet inn. Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Kerr and two daughters returned to Enfield Monday after a short visit here. Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Chisholm of Wilmington spent last weekend with Mrs. Chisholm's sister, Mrs. Robert Tillett. The Misses Carroll Ann Willis, Betsy Fulford. Pittman returned to her home at Snow Hill Sunday after a month's visit here with her daughter, Mrs. J. W. Humphrey. Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Willis and their son. who had been living with Mrs. Louis Willis, left last week for Chicago to make their home there. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Willis and children have moved from Ann street to Cedar street to make their home with Mrs. Louis Willis. Mr. James W. Stewart will leave Sunday for Washington, D. The newcomer has a sister, Gloria Louise. Mrs. Bange is the former Gloria Jarman of Beaufort, and at present is making her home with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E.- J. Jarman, at Camp Glenn. Sgt.
