This bus, paint ed red and white, was the prize for the winner of the Morehead Beaufort game played 6ct. 10. Another much coveted prize won that night was the Mullet Bucket, which the Sea Dogs of Beaufort will attempt to re-captyire in the last game of the season. Accompanying the team, in a chartered bus. were the Morehead City high school band members and majorettes, in snappy and col orful uniforms. The cheerleaders followed in cars. Boys Night? A TW1RP dance Tuesday night ,pt the recreation center was sponsor ed by the FHA. TWIRP (meaning the woman is requested to pay), was easy night for the boys. The girls invited the boys, paid their way in, bought their refreshments and asked them to dance. In other words, the girls footed the bills the night of Nov. 4. The FHA cleared $28. 50 from this dance. Novella Rcid won the door prize and was crowned Queen of the evening. At intermission George Lillis sang three numbers and Jean Smoyer did a tap dance. The American History class, Mrs. John Phillips teacher, climaxed a study of election issues and pro cedure with a visit to the polls on election day. They observed the voters going through the line and their questions were answered by Fred Lewis. The Beta club met Tuesday af ternoon for its regular meeting. The possibilities of establishing a Beta club at Newport were dis cussed. A committee, Mary *Lou Norwood. Helen Willis and Ann Garner, was appointed to look into the matter: The meeting adjourned after a program on the meaning of the Beta club was presented by Annette Guthrie and Bernice Wil lis Parkin.* The Boys Hi-Y mot Tuesday night. The Morehead City chapter of the Future Homemakers of Amer ica is celebrating FHA week Nov. 2-8 with some activity each day. i These activities emphasize the meaning of the organization. Monday the club attended the county rally at Beaufort and had ;i rose ceremony, planted a rose bush on the lawn. Supper in the home economics department and a rally in the auditorium were in cluded in the program. The high light of the meeting was a discus sion on the meaning of the mar riage ceremony, given by the Hcv. Leon Couch, pastor of the First Methodist church, Morehead City. Tuesday night they sponsored the TW1RP dance. On Wednesday the members invited an inspection of their exhibit in the Spinning Wheel window. Thursday, members brought packages for the World Christmas festival, sharing the joy of Christmas with the boys and girls of other lands. Today is pub licity day.^ Tomorrow, family day, is when each member will do something for their family which will contri bute to better family living. The chapter concludes the week by at tending the Presbyterian church Sunday morning.
