The Ladies Auxiliary of the Tree Will Baptist Church will have a party Thursday evening at 7:30 at the home of Mrs. Roy Goodwin. Mr. and Mrs. Halsey Paul and son, H. D. Jr., left for Norfolk Saturday. Mr. Paul and H. D. re turned home Sunday, while Mrs. Paul will remain in Norfolk with Dr. and Mrs. Curtias Merrick for this week. Billy Springle and Mr. and Mrs. Marion Lewis spent Sunday in Wil mington where they visited Mr Wilbur Lewta, a patient at James Walker Memorial Hospital. Mrs J. E. Arrington, Mrs. George Laughton, Mrs. Gerald Hill and Mrs. E. L Davis will leave today for Greensboro to attend tiw an ual state convention o ( the Wo man's Missionary Union. Mr. and Mrs. Luther Umphlett and children of Franklin, Va., spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Carley left yesterday for Berlin, Wis., to make their home there. Mr. Carley re ceived his discharge frr 1 the Ma rine Corps Thursday, urs. Carley is the former Iris Dudley Mr. and Mrs Gerry Thomas of Suffolk spent the weekend here. Beaufort, who is at St. Petersburg, Fla., visited with them. Mr. and Mrs N. F. Eure have re turned from Annapolis, Md , where they visited their son, Ensign Thomas Eure. Miss Laura Davis spent the week end at home from Chapel Hill. She was accompanied to Chapel Hill by her mother, Mrs. Ernest Davis, who will visit her there this week. Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Brown left Friday for Washington. D C., after being called here by the death of Mrs. Brown's mother, Mrs. N. L. Walker. Bobby Springle will leave today for Durham. Mrs. Frank Lewis is ill at her borne. Mr and Mrs. Lonnie Dill and children will move this week to the Otis Willis house on Marsh street. Mrs. E. L. Davis spent the week end in Norfolk. Students to Give Program At PTA Meeting Tonight Students will present a music program at the PTA meeting 8 o' clock tonight at the school. Sammy Merrill, Larry Dudley, and Mr. C. F. Jones, band director, will play selections for a clarinet trio. Sammy Merrill will play a clarinet solo, Beautiful Dreamer, and students of Mr. Oliver Yost will play piano selections. A nominating committee will be elected during the business meet ing. # Mrs. Goodwin Entertains At Stork Shower Thursday Mrs. Roy Goodwin entertained at a stork shower Thursday evening to honor Mrs. Elmer Dudley. Games were played with prizes being awarded the two winners, Mrs. Clarence Willis and Mrs. Let ty Dudley. Mrs. Goodwin served cake, soft drinks and candy. Young People to Present PJay at Church Saturday The Young Peoples League 01 the Free Will Baptist Church will present a play. The Lord Will Work It Out. Saturday evening. March 13, at the church on Turner street. Money raised by the play will be used to pay for the carpet in the church. Mrs. Potter Entertains Bridge Club Thursday Mrs. Duke Howard was guest Thursday evening when Mrs. Gil bert Potter entertained her bridge club.
