TJSN, who was called home from California to at tend his father's funeral, is visiting his mother, Mrs. Ivey Taylor. Mrs. E. C. McLawborn, who has been a patient at Parrott's Hospital in Kinston, returned home Wed nesday. Mrs. George W. Ball and Mrs. Charlie Bell were in New Bern Monday. Mrs. Earl Dickinson of Core Creek accompanied them. Mr. and Mrs. Will Conner spent Sunday with relatives at La Grange. Mr. and Mrs. Ashby B. Morton were in Beaufort Monday after noon. Miss Mary Elizabeth Davis, who spent the spring holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joel Davis, has returned to Richmond, Va. Mrs. Carlyle Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. John T. Hardesty and sons visited Mr. Taylor Sunday at the Veterans Hospital in Fayetteville. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Taylor of Bachelor passed through Friday en route to New Bern. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Adams of near Beaufort, Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Earl Becton and son of Wire Grass and Mr. Leon Davenport of Vir ginia, attended church school here Sunday morning. When 73 year-old Yugoslav priest, Francis Alex Benigar, was expelled from China recently he presented a prob lem to American priest, Paul J. Duchesne, who met hint at the Hong Kong border. There was a bit of difficulty about Father Benigar's ancient passport. He went into China 30 years ago and has been there ever since. His Yugoslav passport, is sued by King Alexander I (1921 34), was so out-of-date and battered the customs guards were suspi cious. Suspicion was allayed af ter lingual detours. Father Benigar speaks seven languages? Yugoslav, Polish, Rus sian, German, Chinese Mandarin, Italian and Latin. Father Duchesne speaks four, English, French, Chi nese Cantonese (which has no sim ilarity to Chinese Mandarin) and Irtjgili ? - The old passport was explained in the language of the Caesars to Duchesne an in English to the bord er guards. Farther Benigar is now in a Hong Kong hospital recovering from general exhaustion. Employment is Problem Richmond, Ind. (AP) ? Howard in a small skiff in front of his home. Alonio joined the Free Will Baptist Church Friday night. He is a World War II veteran who was severely wounded in the Bat tle of the Bulge in 1944. He has been confined to his bed since that time. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Morris of Atlantic were visitors in our com munity Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Taylor and daughter spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Harry, Hamilton, parents of Mrs. Taylor. Mrs. Spencer Lassiter had her hands and arms burned last week by an explosion of her gas stove. Her husband came to her rescue and put out the fire. We hope she will soon recover from her burns. Boos and son, Warwick, were call ed last Friday to Mrs. Boo6' home in Illinois due to the serious ill ness of her mother. Willie O'Neal and- son, Bill, of Drcxel Hill, Pa., have been visit ing Mr. O'Neal's brothers, Arthur, Kelly and Hiatus O'Neal. Mr. and Mrs. David F. O'Neal an nounce the birth of a daughter, Sharon Arlepe, on Wednesday. April 7, at Morehead City Hos pital. On that same day a son, Robert Benjamin, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Ronald O'Neal. Mr. and Mrs. Preston Garrish are home after spending the past week with their daughter, Mrs. E. A. Rush, of Beaufort. Al Gaskins has been home for a visit with Mrs. Gaskins and their son, Joseph Stanley. Mrs. Virginia Austin and family spent last weekend at Hatteras. Mrs. Austin was hostess on Tu#? day night to the Martha Wahab Circle of the Methodist Church. Mrs. Bertha O'Neal was hostess to the Sophia Williams Circle. Mm has April IS? Friends here sympathize deeply with Mrs. Marjorie Gooding in the death of her brother, Mr. Ivey Tay lor, last Monday in a car accident. Mr. and Mrs. James White and children of Cove City visited her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Beachem, last Sunday. She had been a patient there for three weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Collins have re turned from a visit with their chil dren in Rahway, N. J. Mrs. Randall O'Neal and son, George W? of Hatteraj visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Howard recently. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Simpson and daughter, Lois, of Ocean City, Md., spent several days last week with Mr. and Mrs. Murray Tolson. A good many Ocracokers are ex pected home f<y the Easter week end. On Saturday night there will be a dance at the recreation hall. The April P.T.A. meeting, sched uled for next Monday night, will be postponed to Monday, April 26, be cause of the announced revival ser vices to be held next week at the Methodist Church.
