Remove Hair For Arm Chic By VIVIAN BROWN AP Newsfeatures Beauty Editor Fastidious ladies who debate the relative merits of various leg hair removal methods sometimes forget their arms. It isn't that they mean to neglect them, it's just that they don't think of it. Arm hair may be removed in ex actly the same fashion employed on legs. Or it may be lightened sat isfactorily if the growth is not too heavy. New products for this purpose are easier on the skin. One non ammonia hair tightener contains lanolin offering an extra-mild ap plication for the arms. It stirs into a creamy white foam that stays put without messy dripping and lightens hair quickly. This method might prove partic Use i hair lightener if yoa'd be arm-chic this summer. Easy to apply. ularly fascinating to the girl who dislikes fussing with depilatories since it is also effective in lighten ing leg hair, particularly if the growth is not too heavy. Other wise the usual choice may be made of razor, wax removers, creamy de pilatories, pumice and other abra sives. It is a good idea to start the hair lightening program before the skin comes in too-frequent contact with the sun. Sunburn is likely to de lay the project, putting you in the position of tolerating the noticeable fuzzy growth for a long time. A shrimp cocktail salad makes a delicious main course for Friday's lunch. Place the cooked and clean ed shrimp (fresh, frozen or can ned) on salad greens. Season may onnaise with catchup or chili sauce, lemon Juice, Worcester shire sauce and horseradish and spoon this sauce over the shrimp and greens. if YOU and FARM BUREAU V are just a phone call apart Tm con't buy bot*r oufe Insurance ^ kvy ^oMo t voh* ? tfcon Form lurvou. Farm Bureau i Think Ahead of Baby's Needs When Attending Baby Shower Bassinet mikn Rood container for baby food shower. By CECILY BROWNSTONE Associated Press Fowl Editor A baby shower on tne calendar for an expectant mother in your neighborhood? Then try a new idea ? give her a baby-food party, so she won't be deluged with frilly miniature garments the newcomer will swiftly outgrow. Ask each person coming to the i party to think ahead to Baby's needs when he arrives in this wide and wonderful world. Some of the guests can bring starting cereals, cans of strained orange juice and strained meats; other guests can bring cans or jars of strained vege tables and fruits. Eight-ounce bot tles for formula and 4-ounce bot tles for orange juice and water might also be included. If each guest puts a sticker on the container of baby food she brings, and adds the date and her own name, the guest of honor will enjoy the remainder when she feeds Baby. Other useful shower gifts along the feeding line are a small silver spoon, a baby dish and mug, and sterilizing equipment for formula. And how about something for Mother herself? Why not a color ful smock or bed jacket to wear when she's giving Baby his me^ls? If party funds permit, present the shower gifts in a real bassinet, sized for early sleeping needs and baby toting, both at nome and out doors. The bassinet can take on a party air with a wide ruffle of crepe paper. To make the bassinet ruffle, cut a strip of pink or blue crepe paper as deep as the bassinet, plus 3 inches to extend over the top. Be sure that the paper is long enough to go around the basket three times. Gather the paper on the sewing machine 3 inches from one edge to form the top ruffle, then attach it to the bassinet with thumb tacks. Decorate the ruffled bassinet with a wide pink or blue satin rib bon bow and sprays of pink or blue flowers, choosing the color of the flowers to contrast with the bow. Of course your shower guests have to be fed. Favorite kinds of sandwiches and coffee, with olives and nuts, are a good bet For des sert, why not carry out the baby food theme? Here is a recipe for a baby-food ice cream, and one for a baby-food sherbet. Put a scoop of each kind on each serving, and pass with small cup cakes or fancy cookies. Tastes good, and every one will enjoy the variety. Ingredients: % cup sugar, 1 cup strained apricots with farina, H cup strained banana pudding, % cur undiluted enfgnM milk (chilled) NilM: But ??pr with farina and banana pudding to ??ther with ratary beater (hand or electric) until blended.
