Neva Bell, Gene Barnhardt Wed On Parents' Wedding Anniversaries On their parents wedding anni versaries Saturday, June 26, Miss Neva Chadwick Bell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Roland Bell of Beaufort, was married to Mr. Eu gene Wilson Barnhardt, son of Mrs. William Wilton Barnhardt and the late Mr Barnhardt of Win ston-Salem. The double ring ceremony was performed at 8 o'clock in the eve ning in the Ann Street Methodist Church, with the Rev. J. D. Young, pastor of the church, officiating. Prior to the wedding ceremony. Miss Sallie Jean Kerner, organist, of Henderson, gave a program of nuptial music and Mrs. Jarvis Her ring, soloist, of Beaufort, sang The Sweetest Story Ever Told and En treat Me Not to Leave Thee. Baskets of gladioli and fever few stood in the chancel, and lighted cathedral tapers in candelabra gave illumination to the ceremony. The bride, who was given in mar riage by her father, wore a gown of chantilly lace and tulle designed with a portrait neckline appliqued with lace, long lace sleeves and a fitted bodice. The bouffant tulle skirt which extended into a train was appliqued with lace motifs, and her veil fell from a cloche of chantilly. She carried a shower bouquet of lilies of the valley cen tered with a white orchid. Miss Frances Bell served her sis ter as maid of honor. She wore a gown of bride's blue made with high neck lace basque and a full tulle skirt. She wore q matching blue bandeau in her hair and car ried .rubium lilies tied with pink satin ribbon that fell in long streamers. Mrs. William W. Barnhardt Jr. of Winston-Salem, sister-in-law of the bridegroom, was matron of honor. She wore a gown of carna tion pink fashioned with a shirred basque of net and lace, attached net stole and lace peplum over a net skirt, and her hair was held with a matching lace bandeau. Her flowers were rubium lilies with blue streamers. Mrs. J. T. Hayter of Kenansville, Mrs. Hogan Gaskins Jr. of Green ville, Miss Joyce Biggs of Raleigh an<} Beaufort, Miss Betsy Jones and Miss Nancy Russell, both of Beau fort, were bridesmaids. They wore gowns similar to the matron of honor and also carried rubium lilies with blue steamers. Serving as honorary bridesmaids were Mrs. William Oglesby, Miss Pat Webb, both of Beaufort, Miss Ruth Derrick of Clayton, Ga? Miss Nancy Campbell of Chapel Hill and Miss Helen Bell Moore of Orville, Ohio. William W. Barnhardt Jr. of Winston-oalem was best man for his brother and ushers were Harold C. Schaffer, C. William Teague, Edwin Anderson, all o? Winston Salem, Victor Casper and Morris Tarlton of Concord, Richard Gor don of Raleigh and R. W. Chad wick of Durham. Mrs. Bell, mother of the bride, wore a gown of hyacinth blue net with matching net cloche, and Mrs. Barnhardt wore a gown of rose lace with a cloche of the same ma terial. Both wore white orchids. Immediately following the wed ding ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Bell entertained at a reception at their home to honor the bridal couple. Guests were greeted at the door by Miss Lena Duncan and ushered to the receiving line compost-ii of Mr. and Mrs. Bell, Mrs. Barnhardt. the bridal couple and the brides maids. Mrs. J. D. Rumley directed the guests to the dining room where Miss Gladys Chadwick and Mrs. Harold Schaffer of Winston Salem presided over the punch bowls, j Miss Laura Davis was in charge of the bride's book, and Mrs. W. 1. Loftin and Mrs. Bob Carr were in charge of the gift room. Summer flowers were used throughout the house except in the living room where magnolia blos soms outlined the mantel. Magnolias decorated the dining room and two crystal punch bowls stool on either end of the table, with wedding cake, nuts and mints in the center. Four silver candle holders tied with lilies of the valley and white asters, holding cathedral tapers, stood on the table. Before leaving for a wedding trip, the bride changed intc a blue silk suit and beige accessories and wore the orchid from her bridal bouquet. The bride is a graduate of Beau fort High School and received her bachelor's degree from Salem Col lege in 1953. For the past year she has taught music in the public schools at Winston-Salem.
