Eure-Cole Wedding Vows Given In Military Ceremony Sunday Miss Ruth Jeannette Cole, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Cole of Fayetteville, and Ensign Thomas Duncan Eure of Annapolis, Md., son of Mr. and Mrs. Numa Fletcher Eure of Beaufort, were married Sunday, June 27, at 5 o'clock in the afternoon in the First Baptist Church, Fayetteville. The Rev. Louis S. Gaines, pastor of the church, performed the dou ble ring ceremony before an altar decorated with baskets of white gladioli, carnations and bristol fer ry. Seven-branch candelabra with burning white tapers were on the altar and in the background were woodwardia fern and palms. Prior to the wedding ceremony, Mrs. Robert Leath Zentmeyer of Bassett, Va., organist, gave a pro gram of nuptial music and Miss Meredith Tyson of Fayetteville, soloist, sang Through the Years and Because. After the benedic tion she sang the Wedding Bene diction. The bride, who was given in mar riage by her father, wore a gown of rose-point lace and tulle over bridal satin. The moulded bodies featured a -pleated tulle - band aorund the deep V neckline, and long tapering sleeves. The bouf fant skirt of scalloped lace fell over two rows of pleated tulle, the tulle pleating extending into a sweeping train. | Her fingertip veil of silk illusior was draped from a small tulle Juliet cap smocked with seec pearls. She carried a white Bible topped with a white orchid anc showered with lilies of the vallej and stephanotis. Mrs. John Mueller of Fayette ville was matron of honor and Miss Ann Seagrove of Clinton was maic of honor. They wore gowns of mini green nylon chiffon over tulle anc taffeta, fashioned with fittec bodices featuring fichu neckline; which tied at the center back anc draped to the hemline of the gathered waltz-length skirts. Cir clets of velvet and rhinestones with flirtation veils attached were worr in their hair. They carried crescent bouquets of varigated caladiutr leaves and ivy with white carna tions. Mrs. Robert Ernest Cole Jr. anc Mrs. Hal Walker Broadfoot, both of Fayetteville, were bridesmaids They wore dresses and headpieces identical to those worn by the honor attendants and carried simi lar bouquets. Mr. Eure served his son as best ^ man and ushers were Dale Holm quist, Richard Shober, Raye Tveita Robert Rabe, Walter French, all ol Annapolis, and Stephen Francks oi Chapel Hill. Mr. and Mrs. Norvie Day and daughter, Virginia, spent Tuesday and Wednesday in Garner visiting Mr. and Mrs. John Wiley Jr. Mr. John Staton, who had been receiving treatment at the Veter ans Hospital in Durham, returned home yesterday. Mrs. Staton drove there to get him and bring him home. ? ' Mrs. Lillian Jones of New Bern spent Wednesday with Mrs. II. W. Peterson. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hitter and three children of Norfolk spent last weekend with Mrs. Ritter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Thomas. The Rev. and Mrs. Stanley Pot ter and three children will leave today for a ten-day visit to Kansas 1 City, Mo J The Rev. Gordon Bell Davis left I last week for Chester, Va. Before leaving on a wedding trip, the bride changed into a prin cess style sheath dress of aqua silk shantung with a collar trimmed ; with rhinestones. pearls and gold crystal beads, featuring a match ing fitted jacket. She wore match ing shantung sandals and beige accessories. Her corsage was the orchid lifted from her Bible. On their return from their wed ding trip the newly-married couple will make their home at Arundel Estates, Annapolis, Md*. The bride is a graduate of Fay etteville High School and Mere dith College, Raleigh, where she received her Bachelor of Arts de gree in art. For the past year she has been a member of the faculty of Lake Forest Junior High School, Wilmington. The bridegroom is a graduate of Beaufort High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Duke Uni versity in 1953. He is now serving with the Navy and is stationed at Annapolis. two children, Katy and Jerry, of Akron, Ohio, arrived yesterday to visited Mrs. Matthews' sisters, Mrs. O. S. Clawson and Mrs. Robert King, and their aon, Pfc. H. E. Matthews Jr., who is stationed at Camp Lejeune. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Paul and son of Baltimore will arrive tomorrow for a visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Laughtop and Mr. and Mrs. G. M Paul. Mrs. Maurice Peterson and Mrs. H. W. Peterson drove to Chapel Hill Wednesday to bring Mauricia Peterson home from Memorial Hospital where she has been re ceiving ireatment for the past three months. Miss Katharine Dear of Jersey City, N. J., will arrive today for a weekend visit with Mr. and Mrs. Lockwood Phillips. She will be a guest at the Inlet Inn. Mrs. Emma Webb and Miss Pat Webb will spend this weekend in Durham where Mrs. Webb will have a medical check-up at Duke Hospital. 1 Mrs. Robert King Jr. has been spending this week in Burlington with her parents. Mrs. W. G. Mebane and Yancey Mebane, formerly of Beaufort, and Miss Ellen Robinson left Tuesday for Raleigh after a stay at the Inlet Inn. Yancey Mebane left Wednes day for Richmond, Va., to enter the Medical College of Virginia Hospital for his internship. Jack Crosswell of Raleigh will spend this weekend with his wife and son who are staying with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Guthrie. Mr. Spencer graduated from Plato High School. Plato, Mo., in 1951 and received his discharge from the United States Coast Guard last month. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank M.
