Mist Merrill Announces Bridal Attendants' Names Mix Betty Lou Merrill, who will be married tomorrow alter noon it 5:30 in the Cora Creek Methodist Chuich to Mr. Robert L. Hose of Htvelock, will have Mrs. Claud Wheatlv Jr. as her matron of honor. Miss Jane Hawks of New Bern. Mrs. J. L. Mrs. Jack Neal Hostess To Bridge Club Tuesday Mrs. Norwood Young, Mrs. Tom Hood of Fayetteville, who is spend ing the summer here, and Mrs Christopher Jones were guests Tuesday afternoon when Mrs. Jack Neal eutertained her bridge club. High score prize for club mem bers, waste baskets, was won by Mrs. L. W. Moore and high score prize for guests, a fruit basket, was won by Mrs. Jones. Mrs. Hood was presented with a pair of ear rings by her hostess. Mrs. Neal served angel food cake with fruit topping, lime punch and nuts. Baptists Organize New Sunday School Class The Julia Copeland Sunday School Class of the First Baptist Church was organized Friday at the home of Mrs. G. T. Spivey. Schmidt will arrive today from Cleveland, Ohio, to visit Mrs. Schmidt's moth er, Mrs. Hubert Fodrie, before go ing to Miami, Fla., where they will be stationed. Mr. Schmidt has just returned home after 15 months in Korea. Mrs. Schmidt has been staying with her husband's par ents. Mr. and Mrs. James E. Schmidt., while he was overseas. The body was shipped to Ashe boro Thursday for burial. WILLIAM ANDREW HOICK William Andrew Houck, 69; died Saturday morning, July 10. at the Morehead City Hospital. Graveside services were held at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Piver family plot. Highway 70, in the North River community, with the Rev. Louie Lewis, Methodist mfhister of the Atlantic circuit, of iiciating. Mr. Houck, who had been mak ing his home in Bettie for the past few years, is survived by a brother, Daniel, of Akron, Ohio. THOMAS DEWEY DIXON Thomas Dewey Pixon, 49, died Wednesday night At the Morehead City Hospital after a short illness. Funeral services will be held at the home. 1012 Broad St., Beau fort, at 3 o'clock this afternoon with the Rev. J. D. Young, pastor of Ann Street Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Ocean View Cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. An nie Dixon; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Phillips, Mrs. Nat Lewis; and three brothers, Joseph, Willie and Daniel, all of Beaufort.
