Galen Sayler, known hereabouts as "Dr. Ink," is the inventor of a quick drying permanent type ink. It has practically eliminated the blotter. It's not unusual for him to be routed from his bed or have his work interrupted by frantic tele phono calls from a mother whose child drank a bottle of ink. Saylor's answer is: "Don't wor ry, give your child a glass of milk and forget it; if you're really wor ried, have the child's stomach pumped." He says: "Ink would be a good mouth wash if you didn't mind a colored tongue. The mold inhib itor in it is a good antiseptic ? its iron content is more helpful than harmful, and there's nothing else in ink to do. damage." Sayler also receives frantic pleas from women who have spilled ink on a new dress and want to know, immediately, how to remove the stuff without harming the fab ric. That is Sayler's newest problem: a permanent ink that is washable, an ink that remains forever on paper but can be washed easily from all other materials. He fig ures that's enough to keep him | busy for quite a while. Pigeon Boosts Peanut Business Huntington, W. Va. (AP) ? F i H. Cash is uncertain whether his pigeon friend helps his gasoline business, but he says "I do sell a lot of peanuts." The pigeon is easily identified be cause it has only seven toes. Pi geons normally have eight. For the past 18 months, the pea nut vending machine at Cash's sta tion has been a free lunch counter. The pigeon discovered the source from some nuts that dropped from the machine, and Cash encouraged return trips by supplying some when there were none on the ground. Later, customers contributed their pennies to feed him. Cash estimates peanut receipts have gone up 10 to 15 cents a Beaufort TUESDAY - WEDNESDAY STIRLING COUIN HAYDENGRAY Arrow; Dust ceo.
