Mr. and Mrs. Will Conner, Mr. and Mrs. Tommie Aldridge and son, Carl Joseph, visited Mr. and Mrs. Harry Aldridge during the holidays at LaGrange. C., and his guest, Mr. Richard King of McLean, Va., were here Tuesday evening to see Mr. and Mrs. Ashby B. Morton. Mr. Bell and his guest were en route home from Beaufort. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph G. The Woman's Society of Chris tian Service will meet Friday eve ning. Jan. 7, with Mrs. Lionel N. Conner. Mr. and Mrs. Gresham Mason and sons left Saturday for Potomac Heights, Md. Mrs. R. P. Gooding and Mrs. Dewey Hardesty of North River spent Thursday ^nre. Mrs. George W. Ball and Mrs. Charlie Bell were at Morehead City Friday. Mrs. Emma Oglesby visited last week at Crab Point and North River. Clyde and Carl Bell, sons of Mrs. A. N. Bell, will leave Thursday for Raleigh to enter service. Miss Frances Jarman was hurt in an accident Saturday near Beau fort and was carried to Morehead City Hospital for treatment. Her mother, Mrs. Willie Bradshaw, vis ited her Sunday afternoon. Christmas Party On Tuesday evening, Dec. 21, Mrs. Clyde S. Taylor entertained a large group of children under 10 vfiafs of age with a Christmas par ly it Taylor's Community Hall. Mrs. Taylor, assisted by Mrs. Frank Taylor, led the guests in playing the following games: Mer ry Christmas, balloon, donkey and Body of Hissing Fisherman Found The body of Willie Grave, crew member of the menhaden boat Quinn. who waa reported mining Dec. IS, waa found Tuesday room ing in Gallant'a Creek near Smith's fish factory, Beaufort. The body was sighted by a fisher man, Raymond Springie, Beaufort, who notified the sheriff between 6:30 and 7 a.m. Grave was identi fied by Jim Betts, Negro fisherman from Mobile, Ala. Coroner Leslie Springie, unable to detect any indication of foul play in the death, has ruled Grave dead as the result of accidental drown ing. His wallet and other personal belongings were found on the body. Capt. Percy Garner of the Quinn told Morehead City police Dec. IS that Grave had been missing since Saturday night, Dec. 11, when he was paid off. He was last seen "heading for a poker game." Sheriff Hugh Salter said that Grave's family, Cuthbert, Ga., has refused to bear the expenses of shipping the body back to Georgia. He will be buried here at the coun ty expense. Three to BeTried On Whisky Counts M. M. Ayscue, county ABC of ficer, signed warrants Monday charging three Morehead City men with possessing ABC whisky for the purpose of sale and selling the whisky during December. The men are Malcolm Reed, Kenneth "Skin" Jones and Andrew Bell. Bell allegedly sold the whis ky Dec. 31, Jones Dec. 3 and Reed Dec. 16 and 18. State Highway Patrolman R. H. Brown cited Charles Dennis Neal, Cherry Point Marine, Friday for speeding, careless and reckless driving, drunken driving and hit and run driving. A warrant was signed by George R. Ballou, Morehead City, Tuesday, charging Henry E. Hancock Jr., Morehead City, with issuing worth less checks. The checks, written on the Commercial National Bank of Morehead City, were for $400 and $162. James M. Collins, Morehead City, was cited for speeding Wednesday by Patrolman Homer Lewis. a walk for a package containing a small Bible. Santa Claus was present and enjoyed the evening with the guests. Large sticks of Christmas candy were given the children by Santa Claus.
