W. C. Carlton Speaks To Newport Rotariant W. C. Ruggles, will meet at 10 this morning at Fleming's Restaurant, Atlantic Beach Causeway. Plans will be made for the State j College - sponsored meter school ; here this summer. Strange Cargo: Plane Rides Home in Boat The airplane owned by Earl Noe, Beaufort, and damaged at Ocra coke last week, was brought hack to Beaufort Saturday by Capt. Da- I vid Bevei idge in his boat. Jerry. The plane landed at Oeracoke ; and a gust of wind caught it and i turned it over before it could be | anchored. The plane was moved by | skiff to the Jerry and then put . aboard. It was unloaded at the | Beaufort postoffice dock by use of j a block and tackle. It is now being repaired. Congratulations to Capt. Bill's New Waterfront Restaurant Opens Tomorrow ? ? Symphony Officer Says Concert* Were Success Frank Cassiano, chairman of the North Carolina Symphony Society in this county, reports that the concerts last week were a finan cial success. He also reports that the number of children who attended the af ternoon concert Friday at the Morehead City School exceeded last year's number by several hun dred. Memberships sold to the adult concert financed the concert fori children. j Mr. Cassiano has expressed his i appreciation to all who made the symphony's appearance here a 1 success. Offering a fine view of Bogue< Sound, the newly-erected Cap! Bill's Waterfront Restaurant will have its grand opening tomorrow, following a gala Shrine party and dance tonight. The restaurant, built at a cost of *50,000, is 30 feet wide and 140 feet long with seating capacity , for approximately 400 people. Capt. Bill Ballou, owner and op erator of the restaurant, said that the new building will have all of the new and modern innovations, including an all-electric kitchen. Specialties of the house will be seafood, steaks, chops and chicken. Capt. Bill's will be open daily and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Captain Bill, a native of More head City, has been in the res taurant business on the waterfront since 1943, after having been a restaurateur on Arendell Street and operator of a sports fishing fleet. The original Capt. Bill's Restau rant was opened in 1943 and had previously been the location of the Morehcad City Yacht Club. As Captain Bill said, "In 1941 and 1942 our location was used as an Officers Club and we originally used the same building for our restaurant. This building we have today is brand new." For visitors to Morehead City and the county this summer and in years to come, the new restau rant with its expanded facilities will offer a fine eating, greeting and meeting place, the owner con cluded. Clyde Cannon, Newport, Measures Tobaccolands Clyde Cannon, Newport, is work ing with the ASC office, Beaufort, in measuring tobacco acreage. Farmers wanting their tobacco lands pre measured should apply at the ASC office, Beaufort, by Thursday, March 15. The cost of pre measuring, advocated by ASC officials, is 70 cents an acre or $5, whichever is larger. Barges Move Barges are moving now between Morehead City and Oriental, taking heavy stone to Oriental for build j ing of a breakwater there.
