Motorist Pleads Guilty Thursday To Drunk Count Herbert Spring)^, charged with driving drunk, pleaded guilty be fore Judge Lambert R. Morris in County Recorder's Court last Thursday and was sentenced to work on the roads for three months. The sentence was suspend ed upon payment of $100 and costs within 60 days. On a public drunkenness charge, John Ellison pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 30 days on the roads. His sentence was also sus pended on condition he remain sober and stay on good behavior one year, pay a fine of $10 and costs. A three-month sentence given [Clyde Allison Copes was suspended upon payment of $25 fine and costs. Copes pleaded guilty to a charge of careless and reckless driving and operating with an im proper license. Costs were assessed Tom Noe, Beaufort, in lieu of a 30-day road sentence. He was charged with driving with an expired license. Noe pleaded guilty. A $15 fine and costs were assessed against Edward Hill for disturbing the peace. Loyd Harrell Fulcher and Joseph F. Drayer were given suspended sentences upon payment of costs on speeding charges. Bonds were forfeited by Clyde Dixon Barnes, speeding; Lambert Hack, improper use of dealer plates and George Huntley Styron, speed ing. Charges against L. Pierson Wil lis, assault, and Pete Davis, lar ceny, were left open for future prosecution. The* state dropped charges against Doris Elaine Klitz ke, expired operator's permit; Jo seph Gionelli, reduction and em bezzlement and Charlie Sloan, use of profane language. Director Gives Report On Recreation Program Fred Lewis gave a report on yije Morehead City Recreation program at the weekly meeting of the Morehead City Rotary Club last Thursday at Fleming's Restaurant. Mr. Lewis pointed out that dur ing the past year a 20,000 attend ance figure was chalked up at the recreation building.
