Stoto Works on Two Major Projects in Area Two major highway projects under way as of Dec. 31 involved Carteret County, according to a recent report from the State High way Commission. Being built across Gallants Chan nel, Beaufort, is a $852,168 bridge, and a county road running paral lel to White Oak River is being remodeled to highway standards and will be designated NC 58 Cost of the job is *844,444 for 18.4 miles. Judge Comments On Senate Race Judge Luther Hamilton, More- . bead City, wai aaked yesterday whether he expected to run for , re-election as state senator from the seventh district. Judge Hamilton said, "I have a present feeling, foolish 9s it may be, that perhaps I shall." Judge Hamilton represented the seventh district, as did John Daw son, Kins ton, in the upper house at the general assembly in 1#S7 That was the first time in 36 years, the judge commented, that V there was a senator from this county. The Judge expressed the belief that Mr. Dawson would seek re election. Humane Society Finds Baby Moose is 'Chuck Milwaukee (AP)? An excited wo man called the Wisconsin Humane Society. "Send somebody quick," she said. "There's a baby moose on our front lawn." The man asked her how she knew it was a moose. "My husband said so," she re plied. "He ought to know.
