Slated for Week-Long Run
Raintree County, most ambitious
and costliest production in the his
tory of M-G-M, wili be at the More*
bead Theatre all next week. The
movie stars Elizabeth Taylor,
Montgomery CUft and Eva Marie
Saint.
Against a surging backdrop of
America during the Civil War is
told the story of young Johnny
Shawnessy, Montgomery Cllft, and
what happens to him and the two
girls in his life.
The story ranges from the farm
lands of Indiana to the ante bellum
plantation* of the South; from the
French Quarter of New Orleans to
war-torn Indianapolis.
Its historic events begin with the
celebration of Abraham Lincoln's
election to the presidency in i860
and reach their climax with the
Battle of Chlckamauga and Sher
man's devastating March to the
Sea.
. Playing Sunday through Wednes
day W the City Theatre will be
Cowboy, starring Glenn Ford and
Jack Leaarooa.
Cowboy is said to be the real-lite
story of Frank Harris, adventurer
and would-be cowboy, a tenderfoot
who bluffs a tough rancher into
taking him on a cattle drive along
the trail to Mexico and back.
The relationship between these
two men, the girls they meet, the
gunaings and rip-roaring gusto
that mark their drive, all these arc
said to make Cowboy the beat, be
cause lt'a really the West.
Two double feature programs
wind up the week's offerings at the
