Freshwater and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Webb. Dr. and Mr;. Ben Royal left Wednesday for Chapel Hill, where Dr. Royal attended a meeting. They returned home yesterday Tommy Bennett, a senior law student at the University of North Carolina, was home for the week end with his parents, l^r. and Mrs. J. C. Bennett. Mr. Bennett was named to the school's dean's list and is writing his second article for the North Carolina law publica tion. Mrs. L. Hugh Marshburn of Wil mington spent Saturday and Sun day with her daughter aod son-in law, Mr and Mrs. John Bordeaux. Mr. and Mrs. J. 0. Bennett Jr. and two sons of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., were here for the weekend with his parents. The Bennetts are spending some time in North Caro lina. Mrs. Norman Clark and son, Craig, have returned from La Grange, where they visited Mrs. Clark's parents. Mrs. J. F. Thompson Jr. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Grantham visited in Norfolk, Va , several days this week. Jimmy Smith, East Carolina College, visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jewell Smith, Saturday. Mr. Ralph King, father of Mr. Thomas Noe of this city and Mr. Charles Noe of Beaufort, is im proving at a Kinston Hospital, at ter suffering a heart attack. His condition is reportedly much bet ter. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Willis and son, Robbie, Mrs. Agnew Guthrie and daughter, Margaret, spent Sunday in Washington, where they were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. ! Nymphus Congleton. Herbert Webb of Set Level was the gueit speaker at the Lit erary and Art Department meet lot; Wednesday evening at the civic center. Mrs. Webb was introduced by Mrs W. B. Chalk. She told the story of the opera, Aids, by Verdi and played excerpts from a high fidelity recording of the opera, ex plaining each excerpt. After the meeting opened with the club collect and singing of The Old North State, Mrs. Gus Davis, chairman, welcomed the guests, Mrs. Norman Webb. Miss Hortense Boomer and Mrs. D. M. Nairne. Mrs. C. F. Caudell, and Mrs. Joseph A. DeWalt were welcomed as new members. Mrs. Milton Roush, chairman of the art committee, reported on plans for the sidewalk art exhibit planned for this spring. She an nounced that judging in the art contest will be held next Wednes day. It was announced that a dinner meeting would be held April 23, the place to be announced later. Mrs. S. A. Chalk is in charge o I arrangements. Hostesses for the meeting were Mrs. Milton Piner, chairman, Mrs. W. G. Oglesby. Mrs. A. B. Roberts, Mrs. Ben Royal, Mrs. A. T. Baugh and Mrs. Arthur Shepard. Refreshments of Boston coolers and cookies were served at the conclusion of the meeting. bands in Wilmington Tuesday eve ning for the state Rotary Club banquet. Mr. Cordova and Mr. Noe attended sessions Monday and Tuesday. Dr. C. F. Kcuzenkamp of Salter Path left Wednesday for New York City. From there he will go to Rotterdam and Belgium to visit relatives. He will visit other cities and attend the worlds fair at Brussels before returning home late in May. A dutch din ner preceded the Bieeting. Mr. Biiaett explained the rou tine at Caswell and explained the purposes of the school. A film about the school was shown and a question and answer period fol lowed. Plans for future improvements at Caswell were out! lived by Mr. Bissett. Mrs. W. M. Brady, club president, presented him with a Check for $50 M b* used at the school. , Routine business reports were heard. Mrs. John Cainey, Easter leal chairman, reported that the Caster Seal campaign is well un der way. The campaign will end taster Sunday.. Mrs. Hugh Stiles, bridge benefit chairman, reported that a profit of $30?0 was made on the Girl Scout bridge benefit. Miss Bettie Barksdale, Clinic chairman, announced that Mrs. Brady, Mrs. Marion Mills Jr., Mrs. Prank Cassiano and Miss Markadale would serve at the or thopedic clinic this month. Mrs. Coolldge Merrill, dance chairman, announced that the an nual Hospital Charity Ball would be held Saturday. April 12, at the Blltmore Hotel. The ball will be co-sponsored with the Morehead City Jayoees. Ticket sales will be limited to seventy-five couples. Tickets sell for $3 per couple. Music will be furnished by the Sunsetters. All proceeds from the dance will be used at Morehead City Hospital. Mrs. Thomas L. Noe read sev eral amendments to the club con stitution. The amendments were voted on and accepted and the constitution will be changed ac cordingly. Elks to Sponsor Dance For Crippled Children The Morehead City - Beaufort > ElkS Lodge will sponsor a dance Wednesday night at the Blue Rib bon Club. Music Will be by the E. W. Lee Orchestra of Greenville. All proceeds from the dance will go to the Elks crippled children fund. Neither the Blue Ribbon Hub nor the band ia charging for the dance. The Elks will accept $2 per couple contribution to the fund as the price of admission. Meetings Conducted By Methodist Circles The Ann Miriah Circle of frank lin Memorial Methodist Church met at the home el Mrs. Ashton Willis Monday nifht. Sweet Hour of Prayer was sung to open the ?acting. Mrs. Roma Styron gave devotions from Matthew 28 and Mrs. Harold Willis, chairtnan, pre sided. Refreshments of cake, iced drinks, salted nuts and mints were served during the social hour. The Suzanne Land Circle met with Mrs. Dave Gould, with Mrs. Auldin Guthrie as co-hostess. The meeting opened with the Lord's Prayer, after which Mrs. D. B. Willis gave a meditation on the cross. Mrs. Gerald Davis presided. The hostess served pimento cheese sandwiches, potato chips and colas. The circle presented Mrs. Gould a foot stool as a house warming gift. Mrs. Leslie Guthrie and Mrs. Harold Sewell were hostesses to the Glenmore Moore Circle at the Guthrie home. Mrs. Cecil Lang dale gave the devotions and Mrs. Sewell read a poem. Mrs. Harry Bell Sr. gave the benediction. Apple pie a la mode, nuts, candy and iced drinks were served. Lillian Wallace Class Meets With Mrs. Daniels The Lillian Wallace Bible Class of the First Baptist Church held their March meeting at the home of Mrs. L. A. Dani.ls. Attractive arrangements of early spring flow ers were used in the hall and liv ing room. Devotions were given by Mrs. W. C. Carlton and a prayer was said by Mrs. J. G. Bennett. A routine business session was held. Chairmen of benevolent pro jects for each month were named. Mrs. Daniels served cocoanut eake, nuts, coffee and colas, as sisted by Mrs. Edgar Bell, Mrs. George Purifoy and Mrs. Leroy Guthrie. The U. Beginning with emphasis on aervice to the high school, Bonnie Fish, Barbara Nichols, Anne Herbert and Janice Lovick, conducting devotions over the in tercom, brought messages on per sonal influence and good family relationship. Fifteen attractive Fu ture Homemakers presented red roses to each high school teacher in Tuesday. Courtesy was their ware on Wednesday. Saturday will be family day, when each member will do some thing special for or with her fam ily. Sunday, the FHA girls will at tend the 11 o'clock service at the Franklin Memorial Methodist Church. The March meeting was held on Thursday. At the state rally to be held in Raleigh tomorrow, the Morehead City chapter of FHA will be represented by Sara Goodwin, Sandra Garner, Guylene Guthrie, and Kay Willis. Miss Lib Lambeth. Mrs. Cus Da vis, Mrs Norman Wells and mem bers of the Thursday afternoon bridge club. A dessert of angel cocoanut de light with coffee was served prior to bridge. During progressions the hostess served colas and nuts. Club high was won by Mrs. Bill Chalk, second high by Mrs. Skin ner Chalk and low by Mrs. Warren Beck.
