Exchange Student Will Speak at Open Meeting II Allen Croomberg, 18, ? senior at I Rocky Mount Senior High School, ? will b? the guest speaker at the 0 meeting of the American Aaaacta <? tidh of University Women Friday night at the civic center. 1 The Rocky Mount youth spent two months last summer with the family of Robert Carl in Braunach f> weig, Germany, as an American Field Service exchange student. While be was there, a German stu dent was studying in America. Allen was recently named recipi ent of a Morehead Scholarship to < the University of North Carolina. While here, he will be the guest of Mr. and Mrs. George McNeill, i Morehead City. The AAUW invites high school I students, teachers, members of the local exchange student committee, and persons interested in hearing Allen tell of his experiences in Ger many, to the meeting, which will begin at 8 p.m. Albert Lea Jr. Observes Birthday with Party Albert Lea Jr. celebrated his seventh birthday Thursday with a party at his home. Fifteen guests attended. Refreshments of popcorn, Eas ter eggs, ice cream, cake and colas were served. Miss Mary Allen Hughes, senior student nurse at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, arrived home Friday and is spending Easter week with her mother, Mrs. Mary G. Hughes, and sister, Bonnie. Mrs. George Bedsworth and daughter, Sarita, and Miss Jean Byrd spent last Tuesday in New Bern. Mrs. Joe Thompson, Mra. Grady King, Mrs. Eloise Nichols and daughter, Nancy, of Kings Moun tain, visited relatives in Morehead City, Harlowe and Stella over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Horton Doughton and children of Statesville were at their home on Shackleford Street for the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Simpson ar rived Friday on their yacht, Sil ver Spray, they spent the past three months in Florida. Mrs. James Pou of Raleigh spent the weekend at her home here. Her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Sandy McClamrock and children of Chapel Hill Joined her for the weekend. Jimmy Smith, USN, who has been visiting his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Freeman, left Saturday to visit relatives in Farm ville before reporting to Norfolk, Va. He was called here by the death of his mother, Mrs. Corinna Freeman Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Webb of Pine Bluff are spending this week at the Earle Webb "home on Bogue Sound. > Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Taylor left yesterday to spend several days in Fernandina, Fla.
