Stolen Car is Recovered After One Day's Search Mrs. Charles Hassell of Beau fort drove to church Thursday night but ended up riding with someone else. She parked her fa ther's 1SK8 Chevrolet beside Ann Street Methodist Church but dis covered that someone had taken it while she was inside. Morehead City police found the car at 6 p.m. Friday parked on 23rd Street. It had not been dam aged, so they called Mrs. Hassell and she went to Morebead City and drove it home. A reception was given after the exercises in honor of the newly-capped freshmen. Housewife Wins Scholarship By ROBERT J. COOPER Louisville, Ky. (AP) ? Judy O'Bannon, a 22-year-old blonde, is the first full-time woman stu dent in the 104-year history of the' Louisville Presbyterian Theologi cal Seminary. The attractive Judy is the wife of Frank L. O'Bannon, a young lawyer whom she met at Indiana University, and she doesn't look much like a future minister. But she won a Rockefeller scholarship entitling her to a year of study to ward a Bachelor of Divinity de gree, and she selected the sem inary here. Judy admits frankly that she probably will never be ordained as a minister, because: "People don't want to listen to a woman preach." But she thinks she wuold like to teach in 1 religious school, and adds: "Even if I don't go on and get my degree, I will have learned how to be a better citizen, a bet ter wife and? when the time comes ?a better mother." Judy does not feel self-conscious about being the only woman stu dent in an otherwise all-male school. She says the students must like her, because they have elected her secretary-treasurer of her class. < The O'Bannons live at nearby Croyden, Ind., where Judy is ? busy housewife in the hours be fore and after classes. The children, in a few minutes, were found playing along the shore. Lions Nominate New Officers Morehead City Lions heard the report of the chairman of the nom inating committee at their meet ing Thursday night at the Hotel Fort Macon. Nominated for president are 0. J. Morrow and Elmer Watson. The defeated candidate for president will be flrit vice-president. C. W Williams was nominated second vice-president; Grsyson Bullock, third; Gene Espy and Otis Jones, for secretary; S. K. Hedgecock, for treasurer; Owens Frederick, tail twister; John T. Willis and John D. Willis, for Lion Tamer. Two new directors are to be chosen. Nominated are Jack Mor gan and David Munden. Mr. Morgan reported that half of the space for the boat show, to be sponsored by the Lions in May, has been sold. Norman Clark, Morehead City football coach, was the speaker. He commented on the need for in structional recreation in Morehead City. He also mentioned that the gymnasium at Morehead City School should be replaced. He owns a crab house here and ships them to Virginia. Parakeet Finds Outside World Rough on Birds Atlantic City, N. J. (AP) ? Chris topher, the pet parakeet of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cordero, went AWOL but the outside world was just too much for him. The Cordero's 2-year-old daugh ter, Sally, opened a window and Chris, who has the run of -the house, flew outside. In hopes that Chris would re turn, the Cordero's placed his cage in the yard. Five hour* later, Chris was found romping merrily inside his "home." WAF Lieutenant Still Takes Orders from Dad Dayton, Ohio (AP)? Cross? is a full colonel at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base here. Door Sill Burns The back door sill of 1911 Aren dell St. caught on fire Saturday < afternoon.
