Charles Horton

Charles Horton, head of the mu
sic department at Campbell Col
lege, directs the Campbell singers.
Mr. Horton is a native of Zebuion.
He graudated from Wake Forest
College with a bachelor's in music
and received his master of music
degree from Westminister Choir
College, Princeton, N. 1. His grad
uate work was done at Union
Theological Seminary in N'W York
City.
Mr. Horton has served as min
ister of music in several large
churches in the South.
During summers, he has worked
as choral director for Kermit
Hunter's outdoor drama Unto
These Hills at Cherokee and also
as assistant director far the Gat
linburg, Tennessee outdoor drama,
Chucky Jack. He is director of the
Campbell Opera Workshop, which
presents three opera productions
each year in cooperation with the
Drama Department.
Well-Rounded Migrant Ministry
Program Needs Cash, Varied Supplies
Civic and church organizations '
have been invited to help in the
county'* ministry to the migrants.
Twelve hundred migrant farm
laborers will be in Carteret this
simmer.
The program of bringing recrea
tion and church services to the
migrants is sponsored by the Cwn
ty Ministers Association in coop
eration with the North Carolina
CowwU of Churches. Approximate
ly $650 in cash is aoe^ed to finance
the program, as well as other
items such as clothing and games.

Youth and adults: softball and
baseball equipment, boxing gloves,
volleyballs, basketballs, croquet
sets, horseshoes, badmington sets,
checkerboards, jigsaw puzzles, ta
bic games, wholesome magazines
and comic books.
