Though everyone was not too surprised, they certainly were pleased when David calmly announced his award. He lias always been one of those lucky students to whom others look enviously, thinking "If I only had his ability!" David was a finalist in the Merit Scholarship program so naturally Harvard con sidered and accepted him as a worthy candidate for one of their scholarships. Now we'll be able to say, "I have a friend at Harvard!" Tuesday was an especially ex citing day for the seniors, for not only did their caps and gowns ar rive that day but their pride and joy, the 1958 Mainsail, finally came. Everyone assembled in the audi torium at ?:45 to receive their an nual wd,.to hear the dedication which this year was given to Mr>. Mildred Lawrence.
