The new headboat Jack Piper VII has arrived and plans are tentative for sailing today from Sonny's Fishing Station. The overall picture of ocean pier fishing shows hogfish, spots, big sea mullet, a fair number of blues; spots arc getting bigger and I the hogfish more numerous. Oc casional speckled trout arc being picked up. Early morning blucfishing has been best, and sea mullet have been good at night. W. E. John Snipes, Havetock, fish ing for a short period at Thomp son's, caught 10 blues up to 2 pounds each, and a Impound Spanish mackerel. Eager fishermen haven't been able to wait for the comple tion of the new Morehead Ocean Pier, and are catching blues, sea mullet and an occasional Spanish mackerel there. | A final comment on the subject | ?# MUftffhhig : take a look at the Hatteras report ? 3 marlin landed in the week? George Bedsworth came close to doing it in one day. Wonder what it would have been if even half our fleet had been trying for billfish. Just might be the "Billfish Junc tion" tag could be moved south. But it won't move south by talking about it over the coffee table, for the time is ripe. And don't forget to try for some of those tuna? the yellowfins are thick out there. Schools WiH Close Soon for Summer Schools will close, for the sum mer, the latter part of this week.
