E. H. King Gives Sewing Machine to School By FANNIfC I KE MAY The principal and faculty con sidered that the home making de partment of the W. S. King High School, Morehaad City, was weak and that th* greatest weakness was a need of modern sewing machines. The PTA, which has always sup ported any program to facilitste learning at the W. S. King High School, took as its goal the sewing machines project. The project was six sewing machines, one of the she machines was to be the swing needle machine. Each Singer cost $117.25, the Swing Needle Singer cost $197.25. The PTA was able to raise enough money to purchase five machines, but fell short of the sixth machine; however, we felt that the PTA had done a wonderful job due to a scarcity of money this fall. Mr. McLendon, our principal, decided that ne would do something about the sixth machine, so he wrote Prof. W. S. King's son, Dr. A. E. H. King, DDS, of Chicago, 111., who is an outstanding dentist in the Windy City. Dr. King readily responded and sent a eheck of $197.25 to pay for the swing needle machine. This do nation by Dr. and Mrs. King achieves our goal in the homemak ing department. We, the students of W. S. Kihg High Sehool, would like the public to know that we appreciate what Dr. King has done for us and we believe that the community should be equally grateful for what he has done to help us meet certain re quirements for accreditation.
