Micky Porpoise Finds INew Home at Oceanarium Eager volunteers carry Micky, the porpoise, to his new home at A. B. Cooper's Oceanarium at Sound Beach Wednesday afternoon. Micky was wrapped in a heavy blanket with mattress padding around that and then put in a water-tight wooden box. His captors, Capt. and Mrs. Milton Santini, put salt water in the box, stuck it in the back of a station wagon and drove the 1,929 miles from Marathon, Fla., to Atlantic Beach in less than 26 hours. The pro gram is open to all boys and girls who live in or are visiting More head City. Fred Lewis, Mrs. Mamie Taylor, Miss Jarkle Taylor and Norman Clark will supervise the program. Mr. Clark will be in charge of outdoor activities. He says he will give instruction in tennis, badminton, volleyball and basketball. He will supervise horse shoes, mixed Softball games (boys and girls) and track and field events. Coach Clark taught tennis and badminton in college and he hopes to develop some top-notch players who may be able to compete in tournament play. Morehead City has an ideal climate for tennis but the sport has never been pushed here. Children who find the weather outdoors too hot can go inside the recreation building for ping, pong, shuffleboard, checkers and other games. Marine Biologist Speaks to Club Dr. Harold Humm of Duke Ma rine Laboratory, Pivers Island, was guest speaker at the Beaufort Rotary Club meeting Tuesday night. The club met at the Scout building. Dr. Humm spoke on food produc tivity of the sea. He pointed out that 99 per cent of man's food is grown on land, 29 per cent of the earth's surface. Only one per cent comes from the sea that covers the other 71 per cent of the surface of the earth. "We are still in the cave man stage in harvesting crops from the sea," Dr. Humm said. The program was under the di rection of Rotarian Jim Wheatley. Next week's program chairman is the Rev. Edward Sharp.
