Armed Forct Air Force Reservists Finish Summer Training Three member* of the Morehaad City Air Force Beaarve unit have recently completed lummer re serve training duty at Air Force baaea in the Carolina*. First Lt. Julian R. Murphy, lo cal flight commander, spent 15 days at Seymour-Johnson Air Force Base. He wai assigned to the comptrollers department of the headquarters group as the as sistant management analyst Offi cer. S/Sgt. Thomas O. Kincaid of Newport was assigned to a troop carrier wing at Pope Air Force Baae as radio operator. T/Sgt. Aaron T. Garner, Newport, and husband of the former Miss Marie B. Jones of Chicago, m., is serving at the Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point. Atlantic Fleet? Kenneth A. Kirk, electronics technician seaman, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel H. Kirk of Route 1, Box 80, New port, arrived in Londonderry. Nor thern Ireland, June 16, aboard the submarine USS Thornback for two weeks' operations with units of the British Navy. She departed from Key West, Fla., June 2. Daniel G. Whealton, USN, of San Diego, Cal., has been promoted to electrician's mate first class, according to information recieved by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Whealton. The pen nine wi" take place between 11 a.m. aod 1 p.m. Plans for the event were made at a recent meeting at Cedar Islaad when the Cedar Island Pony Asso ciation was organised. Purpose of the organisation is to improve the island grasing range and provide better facilities for viewing the pennlngs. A water tank is being built now and plans are under way to con struct a larger corral before the Fourth. It was agreed that there will be at least one general penning each year and not more than three. Th# July Fourth penning will be an an nual affair. If othera are to b* held, they will be achedultd by th* association. The pennings will be at Cedar Island beach at the end of Highway 74 east and wilt be free to the public. Only a few ponies will be sold this year, since the pony owner* are planning on increasing the number in the herd. La Jolla, Calif. (AP) ?
