Rivers Honored Tuesday Miss Cecelia Oglesby, Miss- UU Hollis, Hiss CeceHa Guthrie and Miss Ellen Bordeaux were has tesses it a shower Tuesday tight at the recreation center honoring Mrs. Harry C. Rivers, a recent bride. She is the former Hiss Gayle Piner. Arrangement* of colored glad iotas and gardenias and potted planta were placed around the room. The brida'a table was oov ered with a white cloth and cen tered with an arrangement of daisies and fern flanked with silver candlesticks holding white tapers. The honoree wss presented a white carnation corsage. Her mo ther, Mrs. Earle Piner, and her mother-in-law, Mrs. Madeline Riv ers of Newport, received pepper mint carnation corsages. Mrs. G. D. Canfield, grandmother of the bride, and Mrs. Lila Garner, grandmother of Mr. Rivers, re ceived gardenia corsages. Bingo and bridal games were played and prizes awartt-d the winners. Mrs. A. B. Roberts Jr. won the door prise. Refreshments of fruit punch, dec orated cake, bridal mints and nuts were served, after which the hon oree opened her gifts. Miss Lela Hollis poured punch. The hostesses were assisted by Mrs. Cecil Ogles by. Miss Priscilla Ebron Honored at Bridal Shower Miss Priscilla Ebron, bride-elect, was honored at a shower Tuesday evening by Mrs. R. W. Penny and friends of the honoree from Park view Baptist Church. The Penny home, where the party was held, was decorated with arrangements of gardenias. I Mrs. J. A. Durham and Miss Bonnie Fish were in charge of bridal games. Prizes were award ed Mrs. J. E. Sykes, Mrs. Lester Turnage and Mrs. M. E. McNiel. The prizes were kitchen gadgets and the winners gave them to the honoree. Bridal cakes, decorated with wedding bells and lilies of the val ley, were served with bridal sher bet, nuts and butter mints. Miss Carol Penny and Miss Jenny Crowe served.
