McRoberts and children of Hornell, N. Y., are visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. T. Mills. Dr. Bob Cousar of Raleigh, for mer flying missionary in Brazil, was guest minister at the Presby terian Church Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Boyd and daughter, Winston - Salem, spent last week at Atlantic Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest B. Barnette and daughters, Norma and Patri cia, of Norfolk, Va., were weekend guests of their son and daughter in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Larry E. Barnette. Fussell of Williamston spent the weekend with their daughter and son-in law, Dr. and Mrs. Jerry Norris, and Mrs. Fussell's mother, Mrs. W. H. Jackson. Mr. and Mrs. Manley Sander son have returned to their home in Virginia after visiting Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Oglesby for several days. Mrs. J.' S. McLohon left Friday for Richmond, Va., to visit her husband, who is a patient at Me Guire's Veterans Hospital. She re turned home Sunday. Sfe. and Mrs. Horace G. The Misses Daisy Brock and Barbara Oglesby of Raleigh were home for the holiday weekend with their families. Miss Wynona Blanchard of Ra leigh spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Blan chard. Mrs. James H. Smith and daugh ter, Ruth Marie, of Savannah, Ga., who were visiting relatives here, were called home this week by the illness of her mother, Mrs. Fred Sanders. Wed Saturday Afternoon Mrs. Perry Meloan Taylor III Miss Laura Elizabeth Roberts and Perry Meloan Taylor III were united in marriage in a candle light double ring ceremony Satur day afternoon at four o'clock in First Methodist Church. The Rev. Robert M. Poulk, uncle of the bride, and the Rev. J. Fur man Herbert, pastor, officiated Floor baskets and vases of white gladiolas, ferns, and palms were used to decorate the church. Seven branched candelabra held lighted cathedral tapers and lighted can dles were placed on the altar. Organ selections by Mrs. Theo dore Phillips included Ave Maria, Beloved, and I Love You Truly. Solos by Miss Jeane B acnes were O Perfect Love and Because. She sang the Wedding Prayer as a benediction. The bride, who was given in fiage by her father, wore a length gown of rosepomt and tulle over bridal satis. moulded bodice featured a pleated tulle band around the deep V neckline and long tapering sleevei. The voluminous skirt of scal loped lace fell over two rows of pleated tulle at the bottom, the tulle extending into a sweeping train. She wore a fingertip veil of silk illusion draped from a small Juliet cap smocked with seed pearls, and carried a white Bible topped with a white orchid showered with lilies of the valley and white streamers. Miss Rose Daniels attended the bride as maid of honor. She wore a white nylon dotted swIss gown made with a bateau neckline dip ping to a V in the back, and cap sleeves. The bouffant skirt was acccnted with a sash of white crushed chif fon with streamers extending down the back. She wore a white open crown picture hat with blue shoes and gloves and carried a cascade bouquet of vtiite glamellal aod white asters with blue ribbon* and tulle. > The Misses Jacqule Roberts, sij ter of the bride. Elizabeth Taylor, sister of the bridegroom, Kay Mansfield, Renee Kemp, (11 of Morehead Ci|y, Rae Francei H#s sell of Beaufort and Bobbie Mc Rackan of Scotland Neck were bridesmaids. They wore gowns and hats Iden tical to those of the honor attend ant in light bine and carried all white bouquet* of glameliaa and asters. John Ballou, all of More head City, and Jackie Wheatley of Beaufort. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Roberts wore a beige silk organza dress embroidered with white silk scrolls. She wure matching acces sories and an orchid corsage. The mother of the bridegroom wore a light blue lace dress with matching acceasories and an or chid corsage. A reception was held at the home of the bride's parents immediate ly following the ceremony. Ar rangements of white flowers and greenery and candelabra holding lighted tapers were used through out the house. Guests were greeted by Mrs. J. W. Jackson and Mrs. W. C. Carl ton. Mrs. D. G. Bell presided at the bride's book, Mr*. N. F. Eure of Beaufort, grandmother of the bride, presided in the gift room and goodbyes were said to Mrs. Thurlow Whealton. Serving punch and cake in the dining room and on the back lawn were Mrs. Ashby King, Miss Adi Whitehurst, Mrs. L. A. Daniels, Mrs. Truman Kemp, Mrs. J. Gray Hassell, Mrs. W. R. McRackan, Mrs. Graham W. Duncan and Mrs. James Wheatley. Hie marriage took place Wednesday, July 3. at Halifax Methodist Church, Halifax, N. C. Cake Cutting is Given Taylor-Roberts Couple , Mr. and Mrs. George Ball en tertained at ? cake rutting Friday at their home following rehearsal of the Taylor-Roberta wedding. The home was decorated with ar rangements of white gardenias, gladiolaa and feverfew. Forty-five guests attended. Miss Lena Duncan of Beaufort poured punch and Mrs. A. R. King of Danville, Va. served cake. Both Mrs. King and Miss Duncan are great-aunts of the bride. The bridal couple presented gifts to their attendants at the party. Cake, punch, mints, cheese rings and nuts were served. Birth Announced Mr. and Mrs. Robert Tanner of Plant City, Fla., welcomed a son June 8. Mr. Tanner is a former director of religious education at First Methodist Church. the couple will live in Morehead City. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Banks Roberts Jr. She is a graduate of More head City High School and will continue her education at Pfeiffer College in the fall. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Perry M. Taylor Jr. He graduated from Morehead City High School and attended Presby terian Junior College. He is now stationed at Fort McClellan, Ala., with the Army.
