Her shoulder-length veil of illu
sion was attached to a juliet cap
of white satin. She carried a
prayer book topped with white car
nations, showered with satin
streamers.
Miss Kay Kirby, cousin of the
bride. King, N. C., wore a pale
yellow street length dress with
puffed sleeves, fitted bodice, soft
pleated skirt and carried a cas
cade of spring flowers with satin
streamers.
Mr. David Darnall, the bride
groom's stepfather, was best man.
Ushers were Cpl. Eldon Drenthe,
USMC, Chicago, 111., and Mr.
Frank Hoy of Garner, N. C.
The bride's mother wore a beige
taffeta dress with black and white
accessories and a white carnation
corsage. The bridegroom's mother
wore a navy sheath dress with
white accessories and a red car
nation corsage.
Following the ceremony, there
was a reception on the lawn at
the home of the bride.
In the receiving line were Mrs.
Darnall. Mrs. White, Miss Kirby,
the bride and bridegroom, and
Mrs. Earl Holt of Morehead City.
Serving punch and coffee were
Miss Carolyn Kirby, King, N. C.,
cousin of the bride, and Miss Jody
White, sister of the bride. Miss
Fay Jones, Morehead City, served
the cake.
After a short wedding trip, the
couple will live at Jacksonville,
N. C. The bride is a graduate of
Morehead City High School. Her
husband is a graduate of East
Moline High and ia stationed in
the Marine Corps at Camp Le
jeune.

accepted the scrapbook and sent
it to contest headquarters.
The scrapbook outlined tb^ five
projects undertaken by the contest
committee. It contained pictures
and newspaper clippings showing
how the projects were completed.
Projects follow: tourist courtesy,
sponsored by the Morehead City
Jaycees; Morehead City Boat
Show, sponsored by the Lions*
Club; war on mosquitoes, spou "
sored by the town and a citizens
committee.
