Willis, Ann Street, left Tuesday morning for Durham, where he will enter the Veterans Hospital for treatment. Mrs. Leonard Safrit and son, Leonard, returned home Wednes day from a visit in Mt. Gilead and Aberdeen. Miss Clara Safrit, who had been visiting there, returned home with them. Mrs. Paul Jordan, Wilmington, is visiting Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Safrit. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Taylor and four children left Monday for their home in Franklin, Mass., after spending ten days with his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Wiley H. Tay lor Sr. Maj. and Mrs. Bernard A. Phelps Jr. and daughters, Debbie and Pat, are visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard A. Phelps, for sev eral weeks. They have just re turned from three years in Eng land with the Strategic Air Com mand at Hoyal Air Force Station, Lakenheath, near Cambridge. Ma jor Phelps is en route to his new base, Altus, Okla. Mr. and Mrs. Mark DeBary and daughter, Jean Andrea, of Mar blehead, Mass., have arrived to visit friends and relatives here. They will stay with her mother, Mrs. Bayard Taylor. Miss Jackie Young will return home tomorrow from Hillsboro, where she has been visiting M13S Joy Carr for two weeks. Dr. Anne Sagburg of Asheville was the guest of Mrs. A. J. Ful cher a few days this week. Awards are Presented By Cub Pack Wednesday Cub Scout Pack 367 held its monthly meeting at the Episcopal center west of Atlantic Beach Wed nesday afternoon. After playing on the beach a picnic supper was served. Games were played and prizes were awarded for guessing the number of fish eggs, marbles in a jar, and catching the largest cardboand fish. An awards presentation Cere mony was held and the following boys received awards: Jrtms Adair, den 1, received a lion badge, gold arrow point and silver arrow point; Phillip Bennett, den 1, received a silver afrow point and lion badge; Williaib I. Adair and John Chadwick of den 4 both received gold arrow points and silver arrow points. Terry Rhue of den 1, a charter member of the pack, got the High est award in Cub Scouting, the webelos badge. Terry i( the first pack member to receive the honor badge, which is the only Cub Scout badge that may be worn on a Boy Scout uniform. Terry la now ready to join the Boy Scouts, for by fals ing his webelos rank, he met the tenderfoot requirements Of a tioy Scout. MacFarland of Cherry Point, fourth. Shower Tuesday Evening Honors Miss Beachem Mrs. C. V. Andrews was hostess' [at a shower Tuesday evening at her home honoring Miss Joyce I Beachem, August bride elect. The Andrews home was decorated with mixed flowers and candles. The twenty guests were greeted by Mrs. Steve Beachem, mother tof the honoree, and a miniature corsage was pinned to each guest. Taylor Family Reunites In Beaufort Sunday A family reunion was held Sun day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wiley H. Taylor Sr. All of the Tay lor children and grandchildren were home for the occasion. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Taylor Jr., Mr. and Mrs. John Taylor, Mrs. Emma Webb of Beau fort and Mr. and Mrs. Guy Taylor of Franklin, Mass., as well as the eight grandchildren. Dinner was served buffet style. Mrs. Brooks Entertains Bi-Monthly Bridge Club The bi-monthly club met at the home of Mrs. Bert Brooks Tues day evening. Mixed candies, nuts and colas were served during play. Blackberry pie and homemade vanilla milk shakes were served at the conclusion. High score was won by Mrs. Ronald Earl Mason and low score by Mrs. James Steed. The next meeting will be held at the home ot Mrs. Steed. Two Circles Entertain At Recent Birthday Party The Jeanette Willis Circle and the Nettie Yeomans Circle of the Harkers Island Methodist Church met at the home of Mrs. Elmer W. Smith at Gloucester recently to honor Mrs. Blanch Y. Lewis at a birthday party. Games were played, after which refreshments were served by the hostesses. Circle Meets The Elizabeth Hale Circle of the Baptist Church met at the home of Mrs. Margaret Moore on Mon day night with nine members and one visitor present. The meeting was presided over by the president and discussions were led by Mrs. Moore and Miss Edyth Lewis. At the close of the business meeting, refreshments were served by Mrs. Moore and Miss Myra Murphy. Born Tuesday, July 22 to Mr. and Mrs. Larry Moore, a daughter, Kimberly I^eigh. Mrs. Moore is the former Miss Helen Louise Moore. JayceesPlan Cruise to Cape The Morehcad City Jaycees have planned a moonlight cruise to Cape Lookout aboard the Jack Piper VII tonight. The boat will leave Morehead City at 6:30 p.m. Invited guests of the Jaycees will be Bonnie Fish, Miss Morehead City; Betty Lane Evans, Miss North Carolina; and Miss Evans' chaperonc, Mrs. Ramona Van Nortwick. Plans for the cruise were made at a business meeting prior to the regular Jaycee meeting at the Blue Ribbon Culb Monday night. New Bern Man Causes Needless CG Search Gerald Grant, New Bern, caused the Coast Guard to make a point less search Wednesday night. While Grant was sleeping com fortably at Atlantic Beach, Coast Guard boats from New Bern and Fort Macon were searching for him. A party fn New Berh had con tacted the Coast Guard aaying that Grant was overdue at home. When he was located, Guardsmen found that he had not bothered to call home to say he was spending the night at the beach. Bed Burns A bed in an apartment over Petersba's Grocery, Broad Street, Beaufort, caught on fire Tuesday morning.
