Miriam Rebekahs Make Final Plans for Picnic Final plans for the picnic to be held Sunday were made by the Miriam Rebekahs at their meeting Monday night. The picnic will be held at 5 p.m. at the homo of Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Wininger, Newport. Odd Fellows and Rebekahs and their families are invited. Anyone who does not have transportation or who does not know the way to the Wininger home is asked to meet at the lodge on Turner Street no later than 5:30 The menu planned for the picnic includes charcoaled hot dogs and hamburgers, baked beans, potato salad, potato chips, pickles and soft drinks. The Rebekahs also plan a plas tics party, to be held at 8 p.m. at the lodge hall on Monday, Sept. 8 Further plans will be announced later. Kamplain, USMC, j of Cherry Point in a candlelight ceremony Friday, Aug. 1, at seven thirty in the Free Grace Pilgrim Holiness Church, Harkers Island I The Rev. C. C. McMasters, pas , tor, officiated. The vows were spo ken before a background of white , gladlolas, ferns and palms. The altar was draped in white covered j with ivy. O Promise Me and The Lord's Prayer. The bride was given in marriage i by her father. She wore a floor length gown of nylon jersey, taf feta and lace. The fitted lace bod ice featured a round neckline dip ping to a V in the back and brace let length sleeves, highlighted by three bows in the back. Miss Carr remained to spend two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Davis and daughter, Penny, of Tucson, Ariz., are visiting his mother and sister, Mrs. J. J. Davis and Mrs. Kuby Holland of Smyrna. Mrs. John Butler is undergoing treatment at Memorial Hospital, Chapel Hill. Mrs. John Dozier left yesterday for her home in Raleigh after spending three weeks with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Smith. Her grand daughters, Becky and Janet Smith, returned to Raleigh with her. Master Point Game Will Be Played at Inlet Inn Local bridge players interested in duplicate bridge are welcome as spectators at the Monday night bridge league in Morehead City or the Friday night tournameht at the Inlet Inn. Tonight the monthly master point game will be held at the inn. Dr. Charles Duffy and Mrs. D. J. Lewis, both of New Bern, are ranked fourth and eighth in the state, according to the number of master points they have won. Winners, of last Friday's tourna ment were Mrs. A1 Dewey and Mr. Leon Powell. Mrs. Floyd Chad wick and Mr. A1 Dewey won second place, Mrs. Don Martin and Mrs. Dan Pigott won third and Mrs. J. F. Oliver and Mrs. Frank Cox, both of Mount Olive, won fourth. Two Officials Pay Visit To Beaufort Chapter, OES Mrs. Frances Turner, district deputy gland matron, and Mr. Woodrow Rawls, district deputy grand patron, paid their official visit to the Beaufort chapter, Or der of Eastern Star, Tuesday, Aug. 5. Mrs. Bcllzora Chadwick. worthy matron, and Mr. Ivey Chadwick, worthy patron, welcomed the offi cials and visitors from other chap ters. Following the meeting, refresh ments were served and a social hour enjoyed. Mrs. Chadwick en tertained the visiting officials and several out of town guests at din ner prior to the meeting. Mrs. Steed Entertains Bi-Monthly Bridge Club Mrs. James Steed entertained the bi-monthly bridge club at her home Tuesday night. Mrs. Nor wood Young was a guest. Mixed candies, potato chips and colas were served during progres sions and strawberry parfait and ginger ale were served at the con clusion. Mrs. Young won high score and Mrs. Sam Gibbs won low. The next club meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Ronald Earl Mason, Highland Park. Mrs. Wheatly is Hostess At Party Wednesday Mrs. C. R. Wheatly Jr., enter tained at a party at her home Wed nesday honoring Mrs. John Dozier of Raleigh. Mrs. Wheatley used pink gladiolas in arrangements throughout the room. High score was won by Mrs. Oray Hassell and low score by Mrs. B. C. Brown.
