Clayton Mobley Receives Bachelor of Art* Degree Clayton C. Mobley. who wis (he radioman aboard the USCGC Agas aic between February 1X63 and May 1K5. will be graduated by Mercer University, Macon, Oa., Saturday, Aug. If, with a bachelor a I arta degree. Mr. Mobley is married to the Cornier Mary E. Kirkman, daugh ter of Mrs. LiUie M. Kirkman and the recently deceased Jesse G. Kirkman of Morehead City. The Mobley's have one child. Lois Elaine, and plan to make their home in Macon, -where Mr. Mobley is employed by the War ner Robins Air Material Area. Dr. and Mrs. Norris Entertain Bridge Club The couples bridge club met at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Jerry Norris Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Meadows of Beaufort were guests. Candies and salted nuts were served during progressions and chocolate cake and lemonade were served at the conclusion of play. Mr. Billy Oglesby won high score, Mrs. Oglesby won second high and Mr. Meadows won low. The club meets at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Noe next. Mrs. Norris Entertains Bridge Club Wednesday Mrs. Jerry Norris entertained her bridge club Wednesday eve ning at her home. She served a fruit compote topped with lime sherbet, assorted crackers and ginger ale. High score went to Mrs. Billy Oglesby and low score to Mrs. Richard Spears. ESC Opens Field Office; Housing Sought for Marines The New Bern office of the slate employment and securities com mission has announced the opening of a new field office at the Cape hart housing project, three miles from Cherry Point. A representative from New Bern goes there each morning and keeps office hours from 7 a.m. until 12 noon. This branch office is assisting the contractors in securing the needed labor for completion of the 13 million dollar project, which will be composed of 848 units. Due to the closing of Edenton auxiliary air base this fall, hous ing for personnel stationed there (who will be transferred to Cherry Point) is now being sought in the Morehead City area. Bunn of Durham, former pastor of the church, offi ciated at the four o'clock cere ' mony. White glad*olas and five branched candelabra holding light ed cathedral tapers were used to decorate the church. Wedding music was provided by Mrs. George Mizesko, organist. The bride entered the church alone. She wore a waltz length , gown of lace featuring a fitted | bodice with round neckline and 'narrow lace straps over the shoul ders. The full skirt was accented with a satin cummerbund with a Ismail bow on the side. She wore a shoulder length veil of silk ill .sion attached to a queen's crown of simulated pearls and iridescent sequins and short I white mitts. She carried a white Bible topped with a bouquet of j white frenched carnations. I Mrs. Kent O. Brown was matron of honor. She wore a street length frock of white embroidered nylon 'over mist green tulle fashioned I with a round neckline, fitted bodice I and full skirt. She wore matching headdress with round veil and gloves and carried a nosegay of pink carnations. Mr. Kent O. Brown was best man for the bridegroom. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Becton wore a blue embroidered linen dress with white accessories and a corsage of peppermint car nations. The bridegroom's mother wore a , flowered print nylon over taffeta I dress with black accessories and a corsage of peppermint carna tions. After greeting guests in the ves tibule of the church, the couph left for a wedding trip to western North Carolina. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Becton. She is a graduate of Morehead City High School and is employed at More head City Hospital. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Georgia Parker. He is a grad uate of Morehead City High School and Chowan Junior College. He will enter Appalachian State Teachers College in September. Sherrill-Woolard Mr. and Mrs. Charlie D. Woolard of Washington announce the en gagement of their daughter, Lois June, to John C. Sherrill Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Sherrill Sr. of Charlotte. Miss Woolard was a faculty member at Morehead City Graded School last year.
