Potter. Beaufort, made a suggestion for additional deep water port facilities (or thia area at the Beaufort Rotary Club meeting Tuesday night. The club met at the Scout building. Mr. Potter, owner of Beaufort Fisheries, was the guest of pro gram chairman Gerald Hill. Mr. Potter's idea was that the area between Radio Island and Piveri Island could be made into a fine port. "There is a good sandy bottom that could be dredged out easily," he pointed out. "In addition, the highway causeway and railroad help prevent excessive currents in that area," he continued. Mr Potter said that construc tion of such facilities would be raore practical than building an ocean-type drawbridge over the Newport River and building facil ities north of the present port.
