Canadian Motorists Say
Canada, US do Not Agree
Newfane, N. Y. (AP)? Canada
and the United States don't agree
on everything, a Canadian motor
ist told Peace Justice Clive Mer
ritt.
The Canadian had been fined $10
for failing to report that his car
hit and killed a dog. Another mo
torist reported his license number
to New York State police.
But in Quebec, he and his son
were fined $10 each because they
DID notify the police of killing a
dog, the Canadian told the justice.
He said "Quebec authorities levied
the fines for "unnecessary deploy
ing police."
It was J. B. Johnson who made
the first attempt to swim across
the English channel. That was in
1172. He remained In the water
only 65 minutes.
