July 28, 1958, pursuant to
the judgments entered for
unpaid taxes due Carteret
County constituting a lien on
the lands hereinafter de
scribed and for the years as
hereinafter set forth, the un
dersigned sheriff will offer
for sale and will sell to the
highest bidder for cash, sub
ject however to the lien of
any other taxes which may
be due and owing either Car
teret County or any other
taxing unit, the following
parcels or tracts or real es
tate, said sale to be at the
door of the Carteret County
Courthouse in Beaufort, N.
C., at 12:00 o'clock noon on
the 18th day of October,
1958, the said real estate and
the person who listed same
for the year as hereinafter
set forth, the year of the tax,
the amount of the tax, and
the costs being as follows:

building is being continued and
painting and carpentering work
will be completed this week. When
the project ia completed, there will
be a complete nursery (or motheri
to take their children to and leave
them for Sunday School and
church. The two bathroom! will
be finished later.
Morebead City lub-diatrict will
meet at Tuttles Grove Monday
night at 7:30. All youths are en
couraged to attend and call the
parsonage it able to go. Ample
transportation will be provided.
Circle Meets
The Doacas Circle of the Meth
odist Church met with Mrs. Rod
erick Hill, Tuesday evening, Sept.
16. Due to the absence of officers,
Mrs. Donza Lee Morris led with
devotions taken from "Power"
book.
After devotion, business was
brought forth with discussion of
the joint meeting and the impor
tance of members being present
at this monthly meeting. The hos
tess served refreshments of fruit
punch, cake squares and crackers.
The next meeting will be with
Mrs. Winston H. Hill Jr. Tuesday.

There is excellent fishing now at
Drum Inlet. Thirty large drums,
a few puppies, nice flounders,
small assorted fish were caught
over the weekend and in the last
few days. Around twenty people
stayed at Morris Kabin Kamps
and enjoyed their sports fishing
to the highest peak.

Officer Joins
National Guard
The appointment of Jarman E.
Stallings, farmer first lieutenant
in the United SUtei Army Re
serve, as a first lieutenant in the
North Carolina Army National
Guard was announced today by
Governor Hodges. He will be a
platoon leader in Battery C, 690th
Field Artillery Bn., Morehead City.
Lieutenant Stallings was born in
Rocky Mount and resides at 221
Broad Street in New Bern where
be is loan manager o I the Com
mercial Credit Co.
Lieutenant Stagings is a grad
uate of the Woodrow Wilson High
School in Portsmouth, Va., and
Campbell College in Buies Creek.
He is also a graduate of the Army
Artillery Leadership School at Fort
Chaffee, Ark., and the Infantry
Officers School at Fort Benning,
Ga.
He served on active duty from
January 1943 until August 1947,
during which time he saw a tour
of duty in Japan. He has been a
member of the Army Reserves
since September 1947. He was com
missioned a second lieutenant in
October 19S2 and promoted to first
lieutenant in October 1953.
